The crusades (or, at least, the first crusade) were a response to Islamic expansionist aggression. I've already said this earlier. I have no comments on the MM other than to note that it was a text written by a single guy. So what?

At any rate, you aren't really understanding my point. My claim isn't that extremists use Islam to justify their actions. In point of fact, expansionist aggression, the idea that Islam should be politically dominant, is inherent to the religion and has always historically found expression in Muslim civilizations, beginning with Mohammad himself. He was the first jihadist.

This really isn't a point about individuals. I want you to take into serious account that Iran, a sovereign nation state, supports religious terrorism. Seriously consider this point.
