I have to admit that, as the latest societal bruhaha concerning banning certain thought and the expression thereof on the national and global level (read here Facebook,CNN, et al), I have come to wonder how it might play out at TOL. I mean, I know who owns TOL and the purpose of the site ... and I think that both parties have the same right to monitor and filter content though TOL and the national media likely work at cross purposes. So, I guess we are left to decide for ourselves the relative merits of censorship.

Please don't get me wrong. I was here during the Leo Volount days. I understand the need for police. I'm just kinda curious what national standard might finally find it's way to codification if TOL might be used as a microcosm of a much larger issue in the U.S.

The current one trick pony threads are ones attacking the character of our current President. 70 percent of the recent threads in this section are on that very topic. That is too much. I am going to kindly ask the four parties that dwell on this subject to take it back to your liberal and atheist boards if you want to continue to discuss it. This is a conservative website designed to attract mainly conservative traffic. TOL is not to be a clearing house for threads that attack the character of the POTUS. There is enough of that elsewhere. You are welcome to discuss other political issues and policies, The character assassination is going to stop. We didn't do it Obama on a huge scale like this.

In my opinion, the real issue with them is the difference between good ones and pathetically childish stupid ones. Once in a while a graphic can be great, and even funny or informative. And mean-spirited. I don't expect nonChristians to pray for their president (scripture calls for it in our case) but it becomes evident who is praying and who isn't in all of these threads when people trample where angels will not tread.
