The Workmanship of God !

The Workmanship of God !

Eph 2:10

10For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

The word for workmanship is poiēma and means:

that which has been made

2) a work

a) of the works of God as creator

Its liken unto the works of God in Creation Rom 1:20

20For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

We who are True Believers are the Workmanship of God, Made or Created in Christ Jesus [ Different from being created in Adam] unto Good Works. Faith and or Believing in Christ is one of the first of good works the New Creation acts out; Faith is of a Holy Production of a Renewed Mind Eph 4:23,24

And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;

24And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

For Believing is a production of the Mind, which is a work according to the definition of a work in Eph 2:9. Its the greek word ergon:

business, employment, that which any one is occupied

a) that which one undertakes to do, enterprise, undertaking

2) any product whatever, any thing accomplished by hand, art, industry, or mind

3) an act, deed, thing done: the idea of working is emphasised in opp. to that which is less than work

So Believing or Faith is a activity, an act, a deed, a thing done by the renewed Mind of a New Creation, for men to take credit for it makes them their own Creators, which is taking the place of God !

Jesus calls Believing a Work !

Jesus calls Believing a Work !

Faith or believing is an act of man, its our work, Jesus said in Jn 6:28-29

28Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God?

29Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.

Its also a commandment 1 Jn 3:23

23And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment.

So everyone believing that they get saved because they believed on Christ, you believe in Salvation by your works, which is a denial of Salvation by Grace..

What does it mean to be Justified by Faith ?

What does it mean to be Justified by Faith ?

Rom 5:1

1Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:

What does it mean here to be Justified by Faith ? To be certain it does not mean what many false teachers say it means or implies, and that is, that one is Justified before God or made Right before God because of their obedience unto faith that they place in Christ. They are erroneously teaching that mans faith or obedience is the CAUSE of ones Justification before God, and supposedly Rom 5:1 states that. However this is error and not the case because Two verses before Paul makes it clear that the Resurrection of Christ gave evidence of the Justification before God, of all those whose sins Christ was delivered to death in behalf of Rom 4:24-25

24But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead;

25 Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.

Hence the vicarious death of Jesus Christ has fulfilled and completely satisfied all of God's Law and Justice on behalf of all those He died for and was raised again, so then they are Justified before God because of His Death of bearing their sins Rom 3:24 and Isa 53:11 and so Christ's Resurrection from the Dead proves that God's Law and Justice with all of its Righteous requirements were satisfied by His Life and Death, and all for whom He did this for, or in behalf of, are Justified of God BECAUSE OF HIS DEATH, and so they have been accepted of God, which is also Reconciled Rom 5:10. So the Causative Reason for onus's Justification before God, is not their personal faith or obedience, but the merits of Christ death, having satisfied God's Law and Justice on their behalf. So if this be True, we cannot accept Rom 5:1 to be teaching that one is Justified before God because of their exercising faith or belief in Christ, thats taking away from Christ's death's accomplishment and giving it to man ! That is Blasphemy !

So Faith in Rom 5:1 must be understood in a declarative role, in that it makes known to all those Christ died their Justified state before God, that's why Heb states about Faith Heb 11:1

1Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen

One's Justification before God because of Jesus Christ's vicarious Death for them is a invisible reality, one physically we do not see, but God gives Faith through the New Birth to Spiritually persuade the Mind of it's Reality , hence Rom 5:1 !

What does Rom 4:5 teach ?

What does Rom 4:5 teach ?

Rom 4:5

5But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.

Let's look at another scripture that the false teachers like to wrest to their own destruction. This scripture speaks of one's faith being accounted as righteous, but what does that really mean ? Surely Paul is not saying that ones own personal faith is their righteousness or that ones own faith is causative of their righteousness ! You see, Faith is a Grace that receives that Righteousness by which the One's Christ died for are made Righteous; Rom 1:16-17

16For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

17For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

Paul explains in this passage that by the Gospel a Righteousness of God is revealed or made known to Faith, so if Faith receives the revelation of a Righteousness that is not it's own, but of God, then it cannot be that Righteousness. So Faith in Rom 4:5 must be understood as to its object of Faith as being ones Righteousness, which is Christ 1 Cor 1:30

30But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:

True Believers have been made Righteous or Justified by the Obedience of One, which is Christ, and not by their Faith, Paul teaches that believers had been Justified by His Blood Rom 5:9 and that they had been made Righteous by His Obedience Rom 5:19b, and so not by their own personal believing or Faith, which receives the knowledge of the blessing ! So Faith in Rom 4:5 means Christ Righteousness revealed has been accounted as Righteousness !

Righteousness is not by law !

Righteousness is not by law !

Gal 2:21

I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.

If Righteousness comes by the Law, Christ is dead in vain, that is if Righteousness or Justification before God is premised on our personal obedience, then Christ's Death is worthless or in vain.

The word law in this verse in the greek is without the definite article, so its not restricted to any specific law, but the principle of law in general is meant and can be applied, it is the greek word nomos and means:

anything established, anything received by usage, a custom, a law,

a command

a) of any law whatsoever

a precept or injunction

3) the rule of action prescribed by reason

You see, Believing on Christ is a command or an imperative. Paul told the Jailor in Acts 16:30-31

30And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?

31And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

The word believe here is in the imperative mood, which mood denotes:

The imperative mood corresponds to the English imperative, and expresses a command to the hearer to perform a certain action by the order and authority of the one commanding. Thus, Jesus' phrase, "Repent ye, and believe the gospel" (Mk.1:15) is not at all an "invitation," but an absolute command requiring full obedience on the part of all hearers.

Command means:

to direct with specific authority or prerogative; order: The captain commanded his men to attack.

2.
to require authoritatively; demand: She commanded silence.

3.
to have or exercise authority or control over; be master of; have at one's bidding or disposal: The Pharaoh commanded 10,000 slaves.

So, if one gets saved or becomes Righteous, or is Justified by obedience to any command whatsoever, then Christ death is in vain for them, it is for naught.

Now, it behooves us to understand what Paul and Silas really meant when they gave the imperative Believe in Acts 16:31. Did they make Believing a condition for the Jailor to obey in order to get saved ? If they did, then they were teaching Righteousness by Law ! Yet most in the modern religious world say that is what they taught by that. However they were not teaching that at all, but they were giving instruction to one who gave evidence of being already spiritually saved and being alarmed of his sinful condition, of such it is appropriate to speak to them the word of the Lord, the Gospel of their Salvation, but if we insist that the Jailor was in a unregenerate state at this time, and he was given a command or imperative to believe in order to get saved by that act of obedience of his, then we teach Righteousness by Law, and make Christ's Death of none effect !

Self Salvation or Justification !

Self Salvation or Justification !

If the act of ones believing on Christ is their actual Justification or Salvation, then we save ourselves, we make ourselves Justified before God by what we do, we become our own saviour !

Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died !

Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died !

Many fail to understand what Paul means here Rom 8:33-34

33Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth.

34Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.

Paul is basically saying, none can be condemned for whom Christ DIED. Because thats why He Died, to be condemned for them, for their sins 1 Cor 15:3

3For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

1 Pet 2:24

Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

Yes, Christ was condemned in the Flesh for the sins of those He died for. The word condemned in Rom 8:34 is the greek word katakrinō and means:

to give judgment against, to judge worthy of punishment

Christ was Judged worthy of punishment [by imputation] for all those He died for.

Rom 8:3

3For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:

Christ came into the world to be condemned in His Flesh for the sins of those He died for ! Its the same word condemned as used in Rom 8:34, thats why He died, to receive the condemnation of sin for those He died for. He satisfied to the fullest all of God's Law and Justice in their behalf, that the question is in regard to them:

Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died !

Christ's Death for them, Gives God no reason to hold them in condemnation. Why ? Was it because they repented ? How about because they believed ? How about because they were water baptized ? No, No and No again, it was simply because " it is Christ who died" He bore their condemnation that they deserved, for He personally did no sin.

But God sent His Son into the world, made of a woman and made under the law Gal 4:4

But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,

Why ? So that He could condemn sin in the flesh, meaning that He would be condemned in His Flesh for all the sins of all those he died for, The Elect or The Church. He died a condemned death as a Surety for His Church, God's Elect.

So in Justice to Christ's work and Death, it is impossible, and it would be unjust, If one person whom Christ died for shall ever come under God's Condemnation !

Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died !

Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died !

For all those He died for, took upon Himself their condemnation for sin, God's violated law, for scripture says that Rom 4:25

25Who was delivered for our offenses, and was raised again for our justification.

He was delivered to the sword of Divine Justice, not on account of His Offenses, but on account of the offenses of all for whom He died.

The word delivered is the greek word paradidōmi and means:

to deliver up one to custody, to be judged, condemned, punished, scourged, tormented, put to death

He delivered up to be condemned, to be punished, For all those He died for ! And to show that God the Father accepted His Sacrifice for the sins of all for whom He died, He was raised again on account of their Justification. Folks, if any one person for whom Christ died and was condemned in their stead , if any one of them is ever condemned by God, for any charge, Christ should not have been risen from the dead, because that meant something was not all the way taken care of by Christ being condemned and punished for them. If anyone Christ died for goes to hell, the resurrection of Christ was a farce, and the Gospel is meaningless 1 Cor 15:3-4

3For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

4And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

Now if Christ really rose from the dead, then those He died for are really Justified, and God can never world without end lay any charge against them. If we fail to preach as Paul preached in Rom 4:25, that Christ's Resurrection declares all for who's offenses were laid to His Charge, and was condemned for, and that they are Justified before God, then they fail to Preach the Gospel of God, which makes the Gospel they preach a False Gospel.

Even though dead in sin !

Even though dead in sin !

The Elect sinners, who are born dead in sin, because of Christ's Righteousness imputed to them even while being dead in sin, yes even while unbelievers, will receive quickening or spiritual life or made alive by Christ through His Spirit, so Paul writes Eph 2:5

5Even when we [ The Chosen of Eph 1:4] were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved ) ; So their being made alive is the effect of Christ's Justifying Blood, so Paul writes in Rom 5:18b

18Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.

Note: The quickening of Eph 2:5 is the result of the free gift of Rom 5:18

Life, Spiritual Life is the objective of God for Justification, Justification is of Life.

Justification of life is in the genitive case telling us what kind of Justification is being pointed out, its Life. Its the Life Jesus said He would give to His Sheep Jn 10:10

I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

Justification is unto Life for all whom Christ died for. All for whom God Justifies for Christ's sake, do meet all of God's Righteous standards of a fulfilled Law, so He must be Just in now communicating to them Spiritual Life, for this is the only Just thing for God to do unto them because of what Christ has done for them, by honoring His Law. This impartation of spiritual life, now gives us a Holy Spiritual inward disposition, which we had not being dead in sin [Eph 2:5] If Christ be our Righteousness by Imputation, then He shall also be our Sanctification by Regeneration 1 Cor 1:30

30But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:

More on Jn 3:18 " Is condemned already"

More on Jn 3:18 " Is condemned already"

Jn 3:18

18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

This scripture is not teaching that the lack of believing or lack of faith is the cause of these condemnation,no not at all, but that the Law of God condemns them, they are still under it as a covenant of works, you see, Christ on their behalf, has not fulfilled the law [Rom 10:4], nor has He appeased God's Wrath on their behalf [Jn 3:36] and has not reconciled them to God by His Death Rom 5:10

10For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.

So they were already condemned before the manifestation of their unbelief ! Their unbelief merely proves that they are still condemned for their sins.

Adoption

Adoption

Gal 4:5

To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.

All for whom Christ died are the adopted Children of God Jn 11:51-52

51And this spake he not of himself: but being high priest that year, he prophesied that Jesus should die for that nation;

52And not for that nation only, but that also he should gather together in one the children of God that were scattered abroad.

They are the Adopted Children of God before they believed, for Christ only died for the Children of God, those He so Loved Jn 3:16; 1 Jn 3:1; and it is BECAUSE they were the Children of God, and that Christ died for them, that God sends the Spirit of His Son into their hearts Gal 4:6

6And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.

And since ye are Sons, God hath sent the Spirit into your hearts ! This clearly implies they were Sons before they received of the Spirit of Christ !! Thats regeneration or new birth, so New Birth does not cause those Christ died for to become the adopted Children of God for the first time, but because they already were, God gives them a New Birth to make it evident.

When did those that Christ died for become the Adopted Children of God ? Its when God chose them for Himself in His Son before the world began.

The word adopt or adoption in the greek is huiothesia:

adoption, adoption as sons

a) that relationship which God was pleased to establish between himself and the Israelites in preference to all other nations

b) the nature and condition of the true disciples in Christ, who by receiving the Spirit of God into their souls become sons of God

c) the blessed state looked for in the future life after the visible return of Christ from heaven

Its made up of Two greek words, the first is huios and means Son. The second word is tithemi :

to set, put, place

to make (or set) for one's self or for one's use

So it means to set or place as a Son for oneself

The English word for adopt is: to choose or take as one's own; make one's own by selection or assent: to adopt a nickname.

Notice, make ones own by selection:

an act or instance of selecting or the state of being selected; choice.

This is God's act of Election or choosing for Himself those He chose in Christ before the foundation Eph 1:4

4According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:

This word chosen is: to pick out, choose, to pick or choose out for one's self

The word chosen in the greek is in the middle voice, meaning God chose them for Himself, thats Adoption !

Also the word adoption has the denotation of acceptance, and so Eph 1:6

6To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.

This being accepted in the beloved looks back to what had been previously been stated in verses 3-5

3Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:

4According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:

5Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,

So the Adoption took Place before the world began, in Christ, so they were The Adopted Chosen People of God before they believed, and while they were unregenerate !

He gave Gifts to men !

He gave Gifts to men !

Eph 4:8

Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.

It is not the receiving of a Gift that makes a Gift belong to one, but its the act of the giver that does that !

The Holy Spirit, which is a Gift, and the gifts of the Holy Spirit, were not offered to men, but Sovereignly Given according to the Will of God..

Shall come to me !

Shall come to me !

Jn 6:37

All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.

The word come in this context denotes a act of obedience, a positive hearkening to a imperative. It's like when Jesus told Lazarus to come forth Jn 11:43-44

43And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth.

44And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go.

Another example Zacchaeus Lk 19:5

5And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up, and saw him, and said unto him, Zacchaeus, make haste, and come down; for to day I must abide at thy house.

Zach obeyed because Lk 19:9-10

9And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham.

10For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.

Jesus gave the imperative here Matt 11:28

28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Such coming is obedience, obedience of faith ! Rom 16:26

But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith:

Unto them it is the Day of Christ's Power, and they are being made willing or obedient Ps 110:3

3Thy people [Those given to him by the Father] shall be willing in the day of thy power, in the beauties of holiness from the womb of the morning: thou hast the dew of thy youth.

They will obey or come willingly, of a willing mind !

So the coming denotes the active working of power causing obedience, but willing obedience. So coming equals obedience of Faith. So Jesus says, All that the Father giveth me, shall obey me and come at my Call ! Matt 11:28

28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Note about an imperative :

The imperative mood corresponds to the English imperative, and expresses a command to the hearer to perform a certain action by the order and authority of the one commanding. Thus, Jesus' phrase, "Repent ye, and believe the gospel" (Mk.1:15) is not at all an "invitation," but an absolute command requiring full obedience on the part of all hearers.

Never to the Lost

Never to the Lost

The Bible never teaches us that Repentance and Faith are duties or commands unto the Lost, the Unsaved, the unregenerate, for that position has only been assumed without scriptural warrant. When I say Repentance and Faith, I mean as it is here Acts 20:21

21Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.

Faith in Christ belongs to the New Creature 2 Cor 5:17, by which He is it's Author Heb 12:2

2Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

That word author also means that He is the Source of Our Faith.

He is the causer of Our Faith ! If we study the word Author we find out its rich meaning, it is the greek word archēgos :

the chief leader, prince

a) of Christ

2) one that takes the lead in any thing and thus affords an example, a predecessor in a matter, pioneer

3) the author

Now this word is made up of Two root words archē and ago

The word arche means:

beginning, origin

2) the person or thing that commences, the first person or thing in a series, the leader

3) that by which anything begins to be, the origin, the active cause

4) the extremity of a thing

a) of the corners of a sail

5) the first place, principality, rule, magistracy

a) of angels and demons

It means to be the active cause, so Jesus Christ is the Active Cause of Our Faith.

Its a blessing of His resurrection 1 Pet 1:3

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

That Hope is also Our Faith ! In fact it is translated Faith in Heb 10:23

Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised )

So it is to those who have been begotten again unto a Lively Hope, by the Resurrection of Christ from the dead, that are exhorted to Repent and Believe the Gospel after Christ's Righteousness that is imputed to them, is revealed to them through the Gospel !

Something to be aware of !

Something to be aware of !

Something to be aware of ! Did you know that one can be prideful in what supposes to be their humility ? This is True when we confess our sinfulness, and ask God for mercy, and when we think because we have done those things, God is now obligated to give us Salvation or Eternal Life, premised on our acts of confession and need of mercy. Many in Apostate Religion trust in that doing such things, it caused God to save them, Folks that is works Salvation !

Now when I read the story of the Publican in Lk 18:9-14 it does not appear to me, that when the Publican left off from praying for Mercy, that he felt now that God must be merciful to him because of his actions, but it does seem that he resigned the matter to be determined as God would be pleased ! He did not seem as though that he just met a condition, and now God is obligated to have Mercy upon him: But how so different it is with todays religionist, who believe that because of their ACTS of confession, repentance, and so forth, they have done what is necessary to receive Everlasting Life !

Beware of this kind of thinking ! For scripture says:

Rom 9:15-15

I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.

16So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.

Is there a contradiction ?

Is there a contradiction ?

Does Jesus contradict Paul ? Paul writes in Rom 1:21 of the natural man:21Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

The word knew here is the greek word ginōskō and means:

to learn to know, come to know, get a knowledge of perceive, feel

a) to become known

2) to know, understand, perceive, have knowledge of

a) to understand

b) to know

3) Jewish idiom for sexual intercourse between a man and a woman

4) to become acquainted with, to know

Now Jesus says of the pagan jews and gentiles this Jn 17:25

25O righteous Father, the world hath not known thee: but I have known thee, and these have known that thou hast sent me.

The world hath not known thee ! It is the same greek word for know as in Rom 1:21, so what means of this apparent contradiction ?

There is none at all, for you see, by nature all men know by some degree that their is a God, a power greater than themselves, but with that knowledge, it never leads them into the proper worship of God, which is in Spirit and Truth and through the God Man Mediator the Lord Jesus Christ. You see, the way to the True Living God has always been through the mediation of Christ Jn 14:6,7

6Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

7If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.

The same greek word is used for know as above !

The natural man has just enough of a notional knowledge of God as to make them without excuse for their not glorifying Him as God, but become vain in their imagination !

So Jesus says that the natural man has known God, speaking of jews and gentiles, for remember, He is mainly speaking of jews whom He Lived among during the course of His Ministry and they had been given custody of all things that led to the True Worship of God, moreso than the gentiles , and they are guilty of not knowing God !

Folks by nature men do not know God by His Spirit, nor through Jesus Christ, of which Jesus Christ means in Jn 17:25, which truth especially pertained to the jews of which He ministered upon , but it was not by any means restricted to them !

By nature, even the jews, men are blind and in spiritual darkness Jn 3:19

And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

This darkness here that men loved, is more than anything else, they love false religion, idolatry

Only Divine Intervention by Grace can change that Jn 3:20

20For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.

So NO, there is No contradiction !

1 Cor 1:30 Made Complete in Him !

1 Cor 1:30 Made Complete in Him !

1 Cor 1:29-30

29That no flesh should glory in his presence.

30 But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:

But of God, are those of us who are in Christ Jesus 2 Tim 1:9;Rom 8:1] that we are in Christ Jesus, not because of the something we did, for that gives occasion for flesh to glory in His Presence.

And God has made Him [Christ] to be unto us Righteousness and Sanctification.

He made us the Righteousness of God in Him 2 Cor 5:21, this is Imputed Righteousness as Per Rom 4:6

6Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works,

And Sanctification ! That is Imputed Righteousness ensures Imparted Righteousness, which is Our Experiential Sanctification 2 Thess 2:13

13But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:

Thats Imparted Righteousness, that is God the Holy Spirit beginning a work in us Phil 1:6

Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:

This is Sanctification of the Spirit or the New Birth, or New Creation, and then in this New Creation we believe in Christ ! Its the New Man that Believes in Christ, not the Old man ! Col 3:10

And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:

Jn Gill says :

which is renewed in knowledge;
this man, or principle of grace in the soul, is a new one, which never was there before; and there is a daily renovation of it in the spirit of the mind, by the Spirit of God; for as the outward man decays, the inward man, which is the same with this new man, is renewed day by day, increases in holiness and righteousness, grows in grace, and particularly in "knowledge"; light and knowledge of a man's self, of his lost state and condition by nature, of his need of Christ, and of his salvation, is what appears at the first formation of this new man; and the daily renovation of him lies in an increase of spiritual, experimental, and saving knowledge of God, and Christ, and divine things; and indeed, until a man becomes a new creature, he neither knows, nor is he capable of knowing, the things of the Spirit of God; so that this new man, or principle of grace, begins with spiritual knowledge, and is formed in order to it, and its increase lies in it:

You see, it is not until one is given to be a New Man, that he understands his lost state [By Nature] and need of Christ and His Salvation. It is only then, that Christ becomes a suitable Saviour.

So God hath also made him to be unto us Wisdom !

The arminan and freewiller believe it was their wisdom, their prudent behavior, their taking advantage of an opportunity to get saved. They are opportunist :

the policy or practice, as in politics, business, or one's personal affairs, of adapting actions, decisions, etc., to expediency or effectiveness regardless of the sacrifice of ethical principles.

Not that they deliberately regard it as unethical, but that they as:

A chance for progress or advancement. They contribute salvation to their accomplishment of taking advantage of a opportunity presented to them, when others with the same opportunity failed to do so, so it is their own fault ! Thats boasting in the flesh ! But those of us who are saved, and have embraced Christ, we know our Believing was a Result of the Grace of God, The Holy Spirit revealing Christ to us, making us see our Need of Him !

When are the Elect saved ?

When are the Elect saved ?

I have heard it being said that Election is not Salvation but unto Salvation. That is True if we are speaking of conversion or experiential salvation, our personal experience of it, but it is not altogether true, because conversion or experiential salvation depends upon already being saved by the Eternal Purpose of God, even before the world began. This means one is saved, sins forgiven, no condemnation, before they become actual sinners, in Adam and in themselves, by the purpose of God 2 Tim 1:9

9Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,

God has saved us according to His Own Purpose and Grace which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began. This is God's own Purpose of Election, the Election of Grace Rom 9:11

11(For the children being not yet born, neither having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of him that calleth )

Rom 11:5

5Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace.

Folks, by this Divine Purpose alone, the Purpose of Election, every elect individual is Saved from the penalty of sin, even before they sin !

Now that is being saved by Election by Divine Purpose.

Also along with that Divine Purpose, The Elect are saved legally before the foundation of the world, and in time by the Cross of Christ. You see, legally before the foundation of the World, Christ according to the engagements of the Everlasting Covenant, was made a legal Surety for all those He was to die for in time, at the Cross ! It was before the foundation of the world that Christ became covenentally obligated for the sins of the elect they would commit in time in Adam and in themselves. The Cross was the Legal basis for the Surety obligation before the world began, and so it is written that He was ordained before the foundation 1 Pet 1:20

20Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you,

And thats why His Blood is called the Blood of the Everlasting Covenant Heb 13:20

20Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant,

Its an Everlasting Covenant because it originated from Everlasting, it is the Eternal Purpose Paul writes of Eph 3:11 and the Promises of it were then made Titus 1:2

2In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;

Ps 89:3-4,29,36

3I have made a covenant with my chosen, I have sworn unto David my servant,

4Thy seed will I establish for ever[Eternal Life], and build up thy throne to all generations. Selah.

29His seed also will I make to endure for ever, and his throne as the days of heaven.

36His seed shall endure for ever, and his throne as the sun before me.

The Elect of God, the Seed of Christ, the Antitypical David, have always been sure of Eternal Life based upon the Everlasting Covenant !
