Flying a bit under the radar while the Kentucky clerk is in jail the Alabama legislature is entertaining a bill to do away with marriage licensing entirely.

I'm not sure anyone knows. Evidently you go get married by a priest or church official and then simply file a "marriage contract" at the county court house.
