I no longer have a garden
I used to have a cottage with a large wild garden, I planted 36 Roses all colours, shapes and sizes...some as big as saucers
I'm so sorry!
Now that I've had a garden, I don't ever want to live without one.

I was just too fickle. When I found out I planted in wrong place I moved them around.
I did not study about the plants. When I see a pretty plants, I just buy them without knowing much about them.
Now I know them pretty well after killing tons of them.
BTW, nursery workers don't know much about the plants either.
So we have to experiment ourselves.
I've been blesses with a hubby who knows about plants and a neighbor who knows everything about flowers!
Yeah...thanks for the feedback, Meshak, I have hope.I am getting better but it took me 15 years that I finally feel secure with my plants and landscaping.
What a blessing to be doing this together. Rather than fretting about my lack of gardening skills, I will be thankful that we enjoy fishing together. I am often encouraged to put down the theology books for a bit and learn how to catch a nice, big Walleye. My husband loves it. He gets out there with that tiller, we call the mule, and gets my ground ready. I plant the seeds, we both help with the hoeing and weeding. The grass got us this year. It rained so much I couldn't get out in the garden without sinking to my ankles. ugg! But we will do better next year, by the Grace of God.
If you love plants, you will not give upYeah...thanks for the feedback, Meshak, I have hope.
Wow, how cool to have those bees. You are making wonderful memories with the kids.We do have tons of bees...they seem to love the big Russian Sage plant the best, though. We have to walk through a swarm just to get in the front door. I just throw the berries in a freezer bag because I use them in my smoothies. We have one raspberry bush, but the grandkids keep it pretty picked clean. Oh, and we buy several crates of strawberries from up the road and make freezer jam. I keep saying we should have made more.

I'm so happy for you! It feels good to feel secure. :thumb:
I'm looking forward to next spring. I think I will try to grow lettuce. The husband says if the spring is mild I should do ok.
I know not too many men enjoy gardening.
Are there any gardeners out there?
If so, what did you plant this year and do you have the weather for a fall garden?
The hubby is planting our fall greens this weekend. Mmm turnip and mustard greens. Sorry, I wondered off a bit.
God gave us so many wonderful things we can plant and grow. What do y'all like to grow?
I think my veggies will be better too since I chopped al the trees I planted. I have shade for my plants and veggies.
Can you believe I planted about twenty trees and expected to glow flowery bushes and other plants?
We did not have any shade in our yard so I yarned for shade. And it turned out I made a huge mistake.
That is because vegetables are not food. Vegetables are what food eats.

I'm a gardener. Very basic, tomatoes, green peppers, leaf lettuce, parsley, chives!
