You missed it-Luke 24 is after the fact, and you quote only 18-27
Read it:
Luke KJV
24 Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had prepared, and certain others with them.
2 And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulchre.
3 And they entered in, and found not the body of the Lord Jesus.
4 And it came to pass, as they were much perplexed thereabout, behold, two men stood by them in shining garments:
5 And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead?
6 He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee,
7 Saying,
The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.
8 And they remembered his words,
9 And returned from the sepulchre, and told all these things unto
the eleven, and to all the rest.
10 It was Mary Magdalene and Joanna, and Mary the mother of James, and other women that were with them, which told these things unto the apostles.
11 And their words seemed to them as
idle tales, and
they believed them not.
Read it:"the eleven" did not believe,"they believed them not," that He had rose, "the third day rise again." They thought it was "idle tales."
Luke 24 KJV
25
Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken:
26 Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory?
27 And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.
28 And they drew nigh unto the village, whither they went: and he made as though he would have gone further.
29 But they constrained him, saying, Abide with us: for it is toward evening, and the day is far spent. And he went in to tarry with them.
30 And it came to pass, as he sat at meat with them, he took bread, and blessed it, and brake, and gave to them.
31 And their eyes were opened, and they knew him; and he vanished out of their sight.
32 And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?
33 And they rose up the same hour, and returned to Jerusalem, and found the eleven gathered together, and them that were with them,
34 Saying, The Lord is risen indeed, and hath appeared to Simon.
35 And they told what things were done in the way, and how he was known of them in breaking of bread.
36 And as they thus spake, Jesus himself stood in the midst of them, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.
37 But they were terrified and affrighted, and supposed that they had seen a spirit.
38 And he said unto them, Why are ye troubled? and why do thoughts arise in your hearts?
39 Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have.
40 And when he had thus spoken, he shewed them his hands and his feet.
41 And while
they yet believed not for joy, and wondered, he said unto them, Have ye here any meat?
42 And they gave him a piece of a broiled fish, and of an honeycomb.
43 And he took it, and did eat before them.
44 And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.
45
Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures,
46 And said unto them,
Thus it is written, and thus it behooved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:
47 And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
48 And ye are witnesses of these things.
Read it-verses 45-46:
Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures,And said unto them,
Thus it is written, and thus it behooved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:
Then-only after the fact-they were clueless before it happened-they had no idea about the impending dbr-it was hid from them-below.
The Lord Jesus Christ during his earthly ministry, the apostles, and the disciples all preached "the gospel of the kingdom". "Gospel" means "good news", but there is more than one "gospel" in scripture, and, as previously mentioned, the confusion in Christianity results from the failure to understand the absolute necessity of "rightly dividing the word of truth"(2 Tim. 2:15 KJV), mainly failing to distinguish between the prophetic program as revealed in the Old Testament, and the mystery program that was revealed to Paul.
Nowhere in Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John will you find 1 Cor. 15:1-4 KJV being preached as the "good news", the basis for our salvation and justification. Nowhere.
Consider this. You cannot preach what you do not know. You cannot believe that which you do not know.
During the Lord Jesus Christ's earthly ministry, the apostles and disciples had no knowledge of his impending, death, burial, and resurrection:
"From
that time forth began Jesus to shew unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and
be killed, and be raised again the third day. Then Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying,
Be it far from thee, Lord: this shall not be unto thee" Mt. 16:21-22 KJV
Read it: Later, "From that time forth began Jesus" to tell them that He was going to die, and be raised=1 Cor. 15:1-4 KJV-death, burial, resurrection. And, yet, earlier, for 3 years, they were preaching "the gospel of the kingdom." Thus, "the gospel of the kingdom" is not equivalent to 1 Cor. 15:1-4 KJV. You can come to no other conclusion, if you are sane.
Peter attempts to prevent His death, the very death that would reconcile him. Peter never preached 1 Cor. 15:1-4 KJV, at least prior to the dbr.
"And
he began to teach them, that the Son of man must suffer! many things, and be rejected of the elders, and of the chief priests, and scribes, and
be killed, and after three days rise again. And he spake that saying openly. And Peter took him, and
began to rebuke him." Mark 8:3-32 KJV
Again- "He began to teach them..." Obviously, Peter was attempting to prevent the Lord's death! If the death, burial, and resurrection was the grounds for Peter's salvation and justification(as Paul expounds on in his epistles), why was Peter trying to prevent the very thing that would be the basis for his justification? See also John 18:10 KJV. Did he ever preach 1 Cor. 15:1-4 at least prior to its occurrence? No. If he had, his rebuke of the Lord would be a non-sensical reaction, and Peter was smoking a bong.
"For he taught his disciples, and said unto them, The Son of man is delivered into the hands of men, and
they shall kill him; and after that he is killed, he shall rise the third day. But they understood not that saying, and were afraid to ask him." Mark 9:31-32 KJV
Read it-they were w/o a clue about the dbr.
"
Then he took unto him the twelve, and said unto them, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem, and all things that are written by the prophets concerning the Son of man shall be accomplished. For he shall be delivered unto the Gentiles, and shall be mocked, and spitefully entreated, and spitted on: And they shall scourge him, and
put him to death: and the third day he shall rise again. And they understood none of these things: and this saying was hid from them, neither knew they the things which were spoken." Luke 18:31-34 KJV
Read it: "they understood none of these things: and this saying
was hid from them"
Again-only later:
"
Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures, And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behooved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day...." Luke 24:45-46 KJV
"
For as yet they knew not the scripture, that he must rise again from the dead." John 20:9 KJV
They did not know it or understand it prior to His death! They were not preaching 1 Cor. 15:1-4 KJV.
Even after the Lord's death, burial, and resurrection, they initially did not believe it:
"And when they saw him, they worshipped him: but some
doubted." Mt. 28:17 KJV
"And they, when they had heard that he was alive, and had been seen of her, believed not. After that he appeared in another form unto two of them, as they walked, and went into the country. And they went and told it unto the residue: neither believed they them. Afterward he appeared unto
the eleven as they sat at meat, and upbraided them with
their unbelief and hardness of heart,
because they believed not them which had seen him after he was risen." Mark 16:11 KJV
"And returned from the sepulchre, and told all these things unto
the eleven, and to all the rest. It was Mary Magdalene and Joanna, and Mary the mother of James, and other women that were with them, which told these things unto the apostles.
And their words seemed to them as idle tales, and they believed them not." Luke 24:9-11 KJV
" And while they
yet believed not for joy, and wondered, he said unto them, Have ye here any meat?" Luke 24:41 KJV
Why? Even satan and his minions had no clue-part of the mystery...
1 Cor. 2 KJV
6 Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought:
7 But we speak the wisdom of God in
a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory:
8
Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
Had satan and the gang known of the consequences, ramifications, of the crucifixion, resurrection-they would not have done it. Get it? Pretty sharp God, eh? He "tricked" them.
A "secular" analogy-"He switched it...he did it to them.."
