That's sure a lot of exclamation points for a small post, but I will oblige...

I realized in 2007 that while I was a church going person, that I had never been Born Again (John 3:7).
I realize I was lost and deserving of damnation (Rom 3:19)
After many months of torment of soul and seeking God (John 6:68, Heb 11:6) I was Born Again on October 17th, 2007.

Now that I have answered your question, can you answer the question in the OP?

Hi and just where does Paul say you have to be " BORN AGAIN " or Repent or to be BAPTIZO or have a speaking in Tongues experience !!

Is Rom 10:9 FIT into salvation ??

I went trough the same experience that you went through and it was driving me crazy , also !

What people do not understand is that 1 Cor 2:14 , ALL people are dead in sin and the word is FOOLISHNESS and none seek after God , so how are dead people saved ??

#1 , God OPENS the heart as in Acts 16:14 !!

#2 , Then God gives the FAITH to beleive Eph 2:8 !!

#3 , Then Rom 10:9 applies !!

This is why PENTECOSTALS will never believe HOW people are saved today !!

It is great to be saved by GRACE and WANDER all over and sweating every day " AM I SAVED " and NEVER having assurance of salvation !!

You have been the second one to ask me explain how to be saved !!


This is why many believers can not explain HOW Paul was saved in Acts 9:6 and the telling verse in 1 Cor 12:3 !!

Paul is one of those rare, isolated cases one encounters in all of Scripture every so often.

In his case, he had no choice but to believe - the Lord appeared to him!

One more distinction there, when you contrast that with what He said to Thomas.

But no; I do not believe the three points you laid out there are the way.

Your first point could have been by the Word. In which case; ok.

Your second point is off - faith is not the gift there anymore than deciding to believe that fresh paint on a park bench is dry is the result of faith as a gift.

Your third point concerns what Paul is talking about as to what God was doing through the Little Flock that first, Israel might believe, that believing Israel might then take the salvation of God to the Gentiles.

I think there is a futrure implication to that statement. Sort of like we are "seated with Christ" in the heavenlies. There are other passages such as 1 Pet 1:23 and 1 Pet 1:3 that also speak of the new birth.

I think that is how we become a "new creature", we are literally born again as a being that didn't exist until God started saving, indwelling and baptizing people into His Son.

Hi and the book of John 3:8 does not mention a " NEW CREATURE " at ALL and Paul is the ONLY one who mentions the NEW CREATURE in 2 Cor 5:17 and never uses the term " BORN AGAIN " !!

If you believe in John 3:8 , just explain what that verse means !!

You are in a sad position , since you can not explain how anyone can br saved today !!

I never called neither you nor the Apostle Paul a Calvinist.

That is simply your, same old usual reading into the words of another, followed by your usual concluding that your tea leaf reading into their words was sound, followed by your usual overreaction to what is actually your own reading into the words of another.

Your problem is not me and or my words.

Rather; some issue within you.

This is why you so insist that others with MAD are not Acts 9, are in fact, sell outs; if they even use the label Mid-Acts.

You will now rant about that once more...

Proving my point to anyone other than the person who really needs to see this problem of yours - you!

Fact is, we not only do not have to see eye to eye on every point, but to attempt to is not only impossible, while to insist on it is a sure road, if not a sign of, an already firmly entrenched, neurosis.

You are not as special as you think - every movement has its fair share of those who insist that their exact view is the one all must follow to THEIR letter.
