That is because you do not know how to properly exegete scripture! You forgot the last three verses.

John 17:24-26 New American Standard Bible (NASB)

24 Father, I desire that they also, whom You have given Me, be with Me where I am, so that they may see My glory which You have given Me, for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.

25 “O righteous Father, although the world has not known You, yet I have known You; and these have known that You sent Me; 26 and I have made Your name known to them, and will make it known, so that the love with which You loved Me may be in them, and I in them.”

Just did not need them to prove my point, but since you brought them up look at verse 25, 26.

Joh 17:25 "O righteous Father, although the world has not known You, yet I have known You; and these have known that You sent Me;
Joh 17:26 and I have made Your name known to them, and will make it known, so that the love with which You loved Me may be in them, and I in them."

Proves my point, Christ came to manifest, make known his Father.

Now back to verse 3:

Joh 17:3 "This is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.

There is ONLY ONE TRUE GOD, the FATHER.

If you disagree with that you are not a follower of the Son of God that was sent to enlighten us.

The time has come for you to choose who you will believe my friend. Christ or man.

I chose my Lord to lead me to our God, I hope and pray that you have the light and the courage to come with us.

Convenient that you left out verse 24.

How old were you when you lost your salvation by denial of the Trinity.

I started to question the RCC doctrine when I was in my 30s BR. But it took me about ten years to commit myself to what I believe now. It is not easy to discard all that you were taught in SUNDAY SCHOOL. And the price was high for me, I lost family and friends. But I had to follow my heart and I did.

Yeah, the antichrists refuse all truth about their Creator coming to dwell among men.

My faith is based on actual evidence, evidence written in the scripture, while those who need controversial passages to make up their doctrine are taking those doubtful passages and calling it "faith" to believe their own version of those controversial passages, while closing their ears and eyes to the passages which refute their small handful of controversial passages. That is not true faith, which according to the scripture is evidence-based, but rather it is partial blindness and blind faith. That is the false sense in which most modern evangelicals use and mean the word "faith" when they use it because they use it in the sense of "filling in the gaps" which they cannot prove from the scripture. You appear to believe that this sort of "faith" is why you supposedly know the "mystery" while others like Keypurr and myself supposedly know nothing about your supposed "mystery". The truth is you have blinded yourself, of your own will and choice, by closing your ears and eyes over and over again to the passages which others keep posting to you, which refute your handful of controversial scripture passages that you employ to supposedly prove your doctrine. Using passages which are in doubt to formulate your doctrine, while ignoring other passages which refute your doctrine, is not faith but foolishness.

Convenient that you left out verse 24.

Here is the entire chapter from the NASB for you my brother.

Joh 17:1 Jesus spoke these things; and lifting up His eyes to heaven, He said, "Father, the hour has come; glorify Your Son, that the Son may glorify You,
Joh 17:2 even as You gave Him authority over all flesh, that to all whom You have given Him, He may give eternal life.
Joh 17:3 "This is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.
Joh 17:4 "I glorified You on the earth, having accomplished the work which You have given Me to do.
Joh 17:5 "Now, Father, glorify Me together with Yourself, with the glory which I had with You before the world was.
Joh 17:6 "I have manifested Your name to the men whom You gave Me out of the world; they were Yours and You gave them to Me, and they have kept Your word.
Joh 17:7 "Now they have come to know that everything You have given Me is from You;
Joh 17:8 for the words which You gave Me I have given to them; and they received them and truly understood that I came forth from You, and they believed that You sent Me.
Joh 17:9 "I ask on their behalf; I do not ask on behalf of the world, but of those whom You have given Me; for they are Yours;
Joh 17:10 and all things that are Mine are Yours, and Yours are Mine; and I have been glorified in them.
Joh 17:11 "I am no longer in the world; and yet they themselves are in the world, and I come to You. Holy Father, keep them in Your name, the name which You have given Me, that they may be one even as We are.
Joh 17:12 "While I was with them, I was keeping them in Your name which You have given Me; and I guarded them and not one of them perished but the son of perdition, so that the Scripture would be fulfilled.
Joh 17:13 "But now I come to You; and these things I speak in the world so that they may have My joy made full in themselves.
Joh 17:14 "I have given them Your word; and the world has hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
Joh 17:15 "I do not ask You to take them out of the world, but to keep them from the evil one.
Joh 17:16 "They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
Joh 17:17 "Sanctify them in the truth; Your word is truth.
Joh 17:18 "As You sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world.
Joh 17:19 "For their sakes I sanctify Myself, that they themselves also may be sanctified in truth.
Joh 17:20 "I do not ask on behalf of these alone, but for those also who believe in Me through their word;
Joh 17:21 that they may all be one; even as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be in Us, so that the world may believe that You sent Me.
Joh 17:22 "The glory which You have given Me I have given to them, that they may be one, just as We are one;
Joh 17:23 I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me, and loved them, even as You have loved Me.
Joh 17:24 "Father, I desire that they also, whom You have given Me, be with Me where I am, so that they may see My glory which You have given Me, for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.
Joh 17:25 "O righteous Father, although the world has not known You, yet I have known You; and these have known that You sent Me;
Joh 17:26 and I have made Your name known to them, and will make it known, so that the love with which You loved Me may be in them, and I in them."

Do you not understand that only God is perfect and Hebrews 5:9 states;

Hebrews 5:9New American Standard Bible (NASB)

9 And having been made perfect, He became to all those who obey Him the source of eternal salvation,

Don't lecture me about faith and blindness.

Hebrews 5:9New American Standard Bible (NASB)

9 And having been made perfect, He became to all those who obey Him the source of eternal salvation,

LETS LOOK AT IT:

Heb 5:5 So also Christ did not glorify Himself so as to become a high priest, but He who said to Him, "YOU ARE MY SON, TODAY I HAVE BEGOTTEN YOU";
Heb 5:6 just as He says also in another passage, "YOU ARE A PRIEST FOREVER ACCORDING TO THE ORDER OF MELCHIZEDEK."

Is Christ a Priest or God?

Heb 5:7 In the days of His flesh, He offered up both prayers and supplications with loud crying and tears to the One able to save Him from death, and He was heard because of His piety.
Heb 5:8 Although He was a Son, He learned obedience from the things which He suffered.

He was the Lamb of God, not God. He obeyed his God.

Heb 5:9 And having been made perfect, He became to all those who obey Him the source of eternal salvation,
Heb 5:10 being designated by God as a high priest according to the order of Melchizedek.
Heb 5:11 Concerning him we have much to say, and it is hard to explain, since you have become dull of hearing.

God made him a High Priest, NOT A GOD.

WHY do you think your verse made him God?

Nope....the verse says quite clearly GOD WAS MANIFEST IN THE FLESH.

You can run, hide, twist, turn, distort, cut, change, and lie, but the Word is clear to all who have an ear to hear.

It is not me that has his head in the sand.

Get rid of your traditions and start from scratch.

Ones that are perfectly clear but unacceptable?

Not sure if you understood my point or not but the passage that GD posted is in doubt, not because of anything I say, but because that just is what it is:

1 Timothy 3:16 T/R

1 Timothy 3:16 KJV
16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

1 Timothy 3:16 W/H

1 Timothy 3:16 ASV
16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness; He who was manifested in the flesh, Justified in the spirit, Seen of angels, Preached among the nations, Believed on in the world, Received up in glory.

Which one is it? And guess what? The Textus Receptus does not even exist any more for anyone to actually look at it and even see if that is what it actually says. But even though we take scholars who saw it at their word, still yet, the T/R is notoriously the most perverted manuscript to have ever existed. :chuckle:

Nope, your understanding is flawed.

Your Trinity is a foolish fable.

Your in darkness friend, I wish you could open your mind to what scripture is really saying.
