It is one thing to say "I know a socialist by what they say or write or think". It's another thing altogether to claim you are goin to "eradicate the socialist infestation once and for all". How exactly is this going to happen? How are you going to find the socialists? Do they wear funny hats? Or are you simply going to burn down 'socialist' institutions? What exactly is the plan?

I do believe respect should go in all directions. Apparently others disagree with me and allow for horrible insults, but not for the opportunity to defend oneself from them.
In any case, I have not said anything 'liberal' or 'progressive' in this thread, or in any thread. Mostly because I do not consider myself 'liberal' or 'progressive' in the way that those terms have come to mean in recent years. Taking COVID seriously doesn't mean that one is 'liberal', by the way. Nor does being critical of President Trump make one 'liberal' or a 'fascist'. Unless of course the conservative side of the USA wants to censor speech the way the 'liberal' side does...

The clock is ticking. The electoral college will vote. Trump will lose, Biden will win, and despite all the heated talk about eliminating the socialists (easily identified by their hats!), I pray and predict that the transition will go quietly. There'll be grumbling, and attempts at impeachment and the like, but not a civil war.
I hope that President Biden will have the sense to keep the few decent things that Donald Trump accomplished.
