No, they are not. Infractions can only be given by staff. And they give them for rule breaking. Reps can be given by anyone, for any reason.

It is time to reset all infractions. Expire all outstanding infractions and reset the system so that new infractions expire in months, not years.

Why? Because there are members who have become so burdened by past transgressions they now resemble the Greek debt crisis. They can not escape. When they do get to return to active status a single point sends them off for a month, three months or even six and the expiration date on each new infraction is a year or two.

I'd be more for a system where the accused (especially loyal members who contribute financially to keep TOL running) would be allowed to defend themselves before the judge, jury and executioners administer their punishment.

It's not a good idea. Most individuals who receive perma-bans, enroll under new ID's and then end up with a few infractions until they are perma-banned again.

Not really ... IMO, it's important for Billybob to keep his original ID. However, many others have.

Infractions (whether we seem them as justified or not) are intended to make the person receiving them reconsider their behavior.

Sure. In other words be politically correct. If a member is an atheist they are to refrain from expressing their view that there is no God.

That's interesting. I have always maintained my position that I am unconvinced of the existence of any supreme being and never had a problem.
