All that Jesus is and was, was for us. All that Jesus did in his life, death and resurrection was for our justification. Jesus is God's justifier and savior. All that Jesus did, he did in our name and on our behalf, just like we did it ourselves.
"To declare, I say, at this time HIS righteousness: that he might be just and the JUSTIFIER of him that believes in Jesus" Romans 3:26.
There is no Calvinism, Catholicism or any kind of a religion in this scripture. The scripture plainly states that Jesus is the justifier of him that believes in him. Who does Jesus justify? Jesus justifies the ungodly.
"But to him that does no works, but believes on him that justifies the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness" Romans 4:5.
Faith, not works or obedience counts for righteousness. No one needs to be predestinated. No one needs to Join the Catholic church. No one needs to do anything except to believe in Jesus. What should we believe in Jesus? We should believe that Jesus has atoned for our sins and the sins of the whole world, 1 John 2:2. Salvation always has been and always will be by grace through faith. If you don't believe that Jesus is the savior of the whole world, then you probably do not believe that Jesus is Lord.
We are justified by faith because we are justified by Christ. Jesus is also our mediator. He is mediating his righteousness in our name and on our behalf. The scripture says, "There is one God and one mediator between God and men the man Jesus Christ. Who gave himself a ransom FOR ALL, to be testified in due time" 1 Timothy 2:5, 6. Sorry Catholics, it is not the Catholic church or the pope. Only Jesus Christ can be man's mediator. Only Jesus Christ has a righteousness that is acceptable to God.
