I now disavow "left and right" labels

Town can now have one less thing to argue with me about. I will no longer call him a liberal. Left and right just doesn't fit very well anymore, especially since conservatives and tea parties are now being associated with white nationalists and especially this new Boogeyman title "alt- right".

I still regard town and CNN and MSNBC and Huffington Post and jgarden and Anna and Artie and horn etc all cut from the same cloth as there is a common thread tying them altogether but left or liberal doesn't work anymore especially as opposed to right or reactionary. I don't think there is one label that will accurately describe these phenomena but make no mistake, the phenomena is real. Several descriptors are actually necessary like those who trust the people who currently have the power over most of our institutions as opposed to those who deeply distrust it. More descriptors are actually needed as well. Here is an excellent article explaining what I mean and what has caused the need for change:

What you're looking for, is a 2-axis descriptor. There's left/right and libertarian/authoritarian axes for all of us.

Here's a place to see how you are:

Here's how I did:

Something must be wrong with your graph since support of abortion is the most authoritarian position a person can hold.

Hmm. I don't expect pregnant women to submit to the strict discipline of an authoritarian religion. Who'd have thought that liberal morals make you an authoritarian. ;)

There is only the Monoparty now, a wholly owned and operated subsidiary of globalism. In THAT sense, the old labels no longer apply.

But I disagree that Left and Right no longer do. The graphic below better serves as a depiction of where we are now; on THIS scale, where does the GOP fall these days? More and more toward the Left. They've acquired a taste for authoritarianism (power) and refuse to give it up, and they're about to pay dearly for that.

Indeed, where do MOST people fall? More and more toward the Left because more and more believe the soothing lie that a socialistic government run just right can care for them cradle to grave. Or, they've given up fighting the human tidal wave of infantilism and greed.

It all boils down to the very old observation made by someone I now can't recall. There's three basic types of people in the world: those who want to control others, those who want to be controlled, and those who want neither. Growing government is irresistible to the first two types who sooner or later always outnumber and subdue the third.

The compass test was broken, apparently. Just choices and an empty screen on the right. :idunno:

Took another one that had me literally on the line between Authoritarian and Libertarian, almost as perfectly moderate in that sense as you could be, with a .21 libertarian lean, which is just about no lean at all. On the left/right bit I present as a mild left leaning on social issues (1.2 out of a possible 10). So a near zeroed in moderate with a mild left inclination on social issues. About what I expected.

Aha, the other one finally kicked in. I'll see how they match up and edit the results in here.

Gave up on it, but took the Libertarian test in a new and really quick form here.

It came back with me solidly in the Centrist block, moderately left again.

"Centrist prefer a "middle ground" regarding government control of the economy and personal behavior. Depending on the issue, they sometimes favor government intervention and sometimes support individual freedom of choice. Centrists pride themselves on keeping an open mind, tend to oppose "political extremes," and emphasize what they describe as "practical" solutions to problems."

That about says it. And it took 10 quick questions to arrive at the same conclusion the longer tests manage.
