HOW MUCH TIME

HOW MUCH TIME

There are 24 hours in a day of which we each spend around 7-8 hours sleeping. That gives us 16 waking hours. How many of those waking hours do you spend contemplating Elohim, His Son and their works?

When I was first converted and visited denominations they had teachings on devotional times and I wondered what on earth these people were doing? There were up to 15 minute devotions and I’d heard women say that if they missed their devotional time the day did not go very well for them. I then wondered if it were not superstition time.

I read somewhere that whatever you spend time thinking about the most then that is what or who you love the most.

I know a man who is stripping his life of everything that interferes with the fellowship he has with his Saviour. He doesn't seek distractions or pass times, but seeks out his Saviour in all things and finds Him in all things.

Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. Isaiah 26;3

So are you a 15 minute devotional time person or...

Time is a pitfall that many Christians like Truster fall into. It's not about how much time we study or how much time we put into prayer or how many years we have spent in our religion. It's about faith. Do I really believe God will answer my prayers, will he fulfill his promises in my life? In the parable of the talents the Lord was displeased with the servant with one talent who failed to increase it by usury. With all the prohibitions against usury in the bible the only way this makes sense is if the talent or money represents faith. God has given us a measure of faith and he does require us to strengthen and increase it. The best way I have found to increase faith is by prayer, bible study and fellowship with others who have faith. Faith is contagious so if we surround ourselves with the faithful it is bound to rub off eventually. Unfortunately the opposite is also true where if we surround ourselves with unbelievers their unbelief will rub off on us as well.

I just remind myself that the Lord is risen, and that He is risen indeed. It's far less than 15 minutes, and it's all the time too.

Our life is a blink. Don't let the mistakes of the past eat away at the potential of the present. Don't let the vanity of the prospects of the future vail you to the needs of today. Have faith in the sustenance that is submission to the Will of GOD.

Good topic.

David used time as a measurement of devotion, "day and night":

But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

Psalm 25:5
Lead me in Your truth and teach me, For You are the Elohim of my salvation; For You I wait all the day.

This is a description of someone who has been saved.

How many will be donating 45 minutes of their time today and in doing so will assume Elohim is a debtor to their generosity?

So you don't feel obligated to obey? You are going around in ever decreasing circles...
We have a choice.

What sort of love is obligatory?

What sort of good comes from mandating.

My circle?

Ha.... There is One thing I focuse on. It has nothing to do with any people whatsoever.

There is one person in my circle and his opinion means very little.

There is one Spirit in my circle and ITS' guidance, mercy, long-suffering loving kindness encircles me all my days and will continue to whether I have no "friends " in my circle.

You're a sinner who trusts in the amount of time he puts into his religion which is just more human works. You should know better uniformed Reformed!

Spiritual truth is wasted on you.
Spiritual truth is wasted on none.

Matthew: 15. 26. But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast it to dogs. 27. And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters' table.

One concerned for self holds back what they know to be true.

Willingly and knowingly doing such is blaspheme of the Holy Spirit.

Leviticus: 24. 22. Ye shall have one manner of law, as well for the stranger, as for one of your own country: for I am the LORD your God.

Matthew: 12. 30. He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad. 31. Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men. 32. And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come. 33. Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit. 34. O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh. 35. A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things. 36. But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. 37. For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

Matthew: 15. 18. But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man. 19. For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies: 20. These are the things which defile a man: but to eat with unwashen hands defileth not a man.

Mark: 2. 16. And when the scribes and Pharisees saw him eat with publicans and sinners, they said unto his disciples, How is it that he eateth and drinketh with publicans and sinners? 17. When Jesus heard it, he saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

Mark: 3. 24. And if a kingdom be divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. 25. And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand. 26. And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end. 28. Verily I say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme: 29. But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation: 30. Because they said, He hath an unclean spirit.
