I agree, it means showing works that prove you have repented. That is what Eph. 4:1 is telling us.
Did the people that Paul preached to and repented (changed their minds) do nothing when they believed?
What did the believers in this verse do when they heard and believed turning back to God?
Acts 18:8 Crispus, the ruler of the synagogue, believed in the Lord, together with his entire household. And many of the Corinthians hearing Paul believed and were baptized.
Hi and Eph 4:1 has NOTHING to do with REPENTANCE , and use verses in CONTEXT , PLEASE TRY ??
I have already explained Acts 18:7-8 and it shows Paul preaching in the synagogue and in vers 4 is preaching and PERSUADING Jews and Greek speaking Jews that Jesus was the CHRIST / MESSIAH in verse 5 !!
After preaching in thre Synagogue , Paul went next dorr to Justus house that is JOINED HARD to the Synagogue wall , verse 7 !!
Ans when in Justus house they all were worshipping God , in verse 8 and Crispus , were believing and were BAPTIZO !!
Paul was in the house NEXT DOOR ??
Answer how Crispus was BAPTIZO , was it with WATER / HUDOR , so do you see water HERE ??
This is the same Crispus of 1 Cor 1:14 and how was Crispus than baptized ??
Not with WATER / HUDOR , , but Baptized with the Holy Spirit !!
Baptism was out in Acts 1:5 and only the BAPTISMA is left and that is the Holy Spirit !!
2 Cor 3:13-16 proves that the Law and Baptism and Tones and Prophecies are OUT and 1 Cor 13:8 and Heb 6:1-2 explains the why the Jews are in their STUPOR they are in , like you ??
