HEART ATTACK...

If you find yourself alone [driving, for example] and you feel a pain in your chest that radiates out down to your shoulder and hands, you are having a heart attack.

What do you do?

--Take a deep breath.
--Start coughing--very, very deeply.
--Take another breath.
--And cough again.

Repeat as needed and try to get to the nearest hospital emergency room.

pull off to the side of the road, dial 911 and wait for the ambulance - follow the directions of the emergency responder on the phone

I've never heard regeneration called an ordeal before.

Now that you have, what do you think?

It is not an easy process to radically reform one’s own character, beliefs and personality.
Worshiping Christ is easy.
It demands nothing of us.

Following Jesus is difficult.

Jesus is disturbing--then as now.

You actually deny salvation by grace and through trust. You make salvation a difficult work for which you will be rewarded. You are nothing but a heretic.

Believing in Christ and worshiping Him on Sunday is one thing. But following Him 24/7, not as easier said than done but it is worth it and the right Godly thing to do.

You can have a heart attack physically and hopefully you can live through it and make changes in your life like eating healthy and working out.

But your heart spiritually is secured eternally when you accept Christ as Savior and Lord. But reject Him, you are separated eternally from Him and others who have gone before.

Sorry for the confusion. My intention was to point out that many of us Christians believe that being a member of the faith simply requires giving our assent to a list of beliefs rather than letting Jesus speak for himself and taking him seriously.

I have a difference of opinion with you about my own faith journey.
It seems to me you are quick to judge and condemn me without even knowing me at all.
If you have specific questions to ask about my experiences or beliefs, by all means ask.

If we believe that salvation and grace come as a result of adhering to a set of requirements, then we are definitely no longer talking about salvation or grace.

You mean this is not about a health problem?

It's impossible, as a matter of fact. The harder you try, the worse it is.

Instead, rest is called for. Trust in the only ONE who can do it.

God forbid he might need some answers instead of judgment. Truster can always be counted on to JUMP. :chuckle:

Yes, I know, I'm on ignore, and don't need to hear it again. Poor lonely fellow.

Looks to me like Truster took it off course. :chuckle:

You know, Truster is a weirdo, really.

I like reading about what some old people might be worried about because I worry about some of the same. Then some jerk is like not allowing any freedom to discuss anything other than the spiritual, when that is not balanced. Truster should stick to his own business and not pester everyone. aikido7 is very old and has his concerns, and I am interested.

I started the thread. It was concerning some recent news about surviving heart attacks.
You probably got confused when I answered some off-topic issues raised by some readers.

In recent scientific research shows that the ability to do push-ups can often indicate if heart disease can be a significant ailment.

What if I cannot do any push-ups, I do not think I can do them, and have not tried. Should I be able to do one and is it off my knees?

I have found the opposite to be true.

That’s the first-century definition of the word “faith” as Jesus and his culture defined it.
FAITH means TRUST.

I put my trust in the God of Jesus, not the god of Rome or Empire.

For me, Jesus is the “norm” of the Bible. Once my step-daughter asked me if Jesus’ name was “Norm.”

Sorry, I’m no expert about hearts or exercise.

Maybe you could find some details using google.

If you have the time and inclination, I’d like to know what you learn.

I can tell you I can't do one, but maybe not having does any like it before, maybe that is why?

Most of my exercise is walking, not aerobic or top body muscle exercise.
