A person should own, or you already have? If you have man hands, get the Glock 45. I think it is the best choice. The grip of the 17 is better, as the pinky doesn't hang off the end. I mean man hands colloquially. Bigger hands.

Overall, for all people, that list is solid. Substitute a long range rifle for a "sniper rifle". Like a modern AR10. It is easier to deal with than the modern M1A, which is the modern, semi-auto M14.

Massad with valid points, but only one side. I changed sides.

He rants about the poor quality of this Colt. But the important part is about 2:45 in. Or watch all of it. The .45 auto is better than 9mm, I won't waste my time on the discussion. And that isn't his point in the video. In fact, he says "move on".

Absolutely. That statistic about officers getting maybe 17 seconds (versus 1.2 seconds) while the criminal can't figure out where the manual safety is. Wild.

, but only one side. I changed sides.

It's like he said at the beginning, it really depends what you're doing. In war, a manual safety is probably more bad than good, but for a self-defense civilian gun, and apparently also perhaps a standard issue police gun, a manual safety might make more sense.

Yeah and then he goes and shoots like 10 mags through it and says, "It shoots well, after all, it's a 1911," or something like that lol. It's like a macro lager like Bud or Coors, it's definitely not the latest and greatest, but it is solid and consistent and reliable.

But the important part is about 2:45 in. Or watch all of it.

I did. Capacity is the biggest issue with the single-stack 1911 for sure, and if you think a double-stack 1911 is the solution, I would disagree.

Because, one advantage, and the only one maybe the 1911 single-stack has over the Glock and Sig and H&K .45s, is it's literally flatter than those guns. So if you're carrying, it's easier to conceal it. And you're still carrying that whopping .45 ACP round on you, and it's easier to hide than the double-stack .45s that he compares the 1911 with.

I would love to have a .45 ACP with 12 rounds and that is as easy to conceal as an 8+1 1911, but I think that's physically impossible. You have to make a choice.

Since the subject of capacity comes up, and rightly so, here is more food for thought. 2 videos in order by me for a reason.

In this he demonstrates the police shooting that shook law enforcement. It is useful information even for those like me not in law enforcement.
