Grace reigns through Righteousness !

Rom 5:21

21 That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.

Now through who or what righteousness does grace reign ? Its through the righteousness of the One Jesus Christ as stated in Vs 18

Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one[Jesus Christ the Righteous] the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.

This is a Suretyship Righteousness for all whom He represented, consisting of preceptive law obedience, a perfect obedience unto God which His Law demands Matt 5:48, which cannot and does not offend in any one point James 2:10

Also it is a Suretyship righteousness that has satisfied the Justice of God in undergoing the penalty of sin, for what was due for all their sins Isa 53:5, the penalty was death !

Now because of this righteousness, Gods grace reigns unto eternal life ! It would be a travesty if anyone Christ represented in this Suretyship righteousness would die in their sins.

It would mean sin and death reigned over above Christs righteousness and grace !

True Indeed ! God's Grace is Sovereign, meaning that it reigns as King through the Righteousness of Christ by His Suretyship engagement with the Father Heb. 7:22 on behalf of all those given Him John 10:29 from Everlasting Eph. 1:4-7; taking upon Himself all the sins of God's Elect, His Body the Church, and imputing His Righteousness and Perfect Obedience to them Rom. 5:19b; Ps. 32:2; God's Grace given them before the world began 2 Tim. 1:9.

But the non-elect, not represented by Christ, sin and death shall continue to reign over them permanently, and they all shall die in their sins Rev. 21:8.

Religious man doesn't understand Gods Grace, he sells it short. However Grace reigns over above what death did through Adams sin, that is Paul's point in Rom 5:21

21 That as sin hath reigned unto death by Adam, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.

Now is death reign by adam more successful than Graces reign through Righteousness by Jesus Christ ?

Most people believe that the Grace of God in Salvation is offered to all men without exception, they take a faulty view of Titus 2:11

11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,

They twist and finagle this verse and force it to say or mean God offers Grace to Salvation to all without exception, but that is not what that verse says or mean.

Its actually testifying to what Grace does in bringing Salvation to all men that it saves. The words bringeth salvation means
saving, bringing salvation in other words its reigning through righteousness bring about a saving conversion. Thats why Paul says it teaches us:

12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;

The all men therefore simply means all classes of men. The Grace of God here isn't said to be offered to all men, thats just as ridiculous as saying death in its reign is said to be offered to all men !

Because Grace reigns through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ, its not biblical to say that the Grace of God can be resisted when it comes to eternal life/salvation, it cant be resisted no more than death can be resisted as it reigns. Neither is it scriptural to say that this Grace is offered to everyone and it can be accepted or rejected as man so wills, no more so than you can say death can be offered to everyone and its up to the will of man to accept it or reject it. The issues of life and death are foundationed upon Gods purpose. Ecc 3:1-2 And we have no say so as to when were born into this world nor when the purpose of God determines when we die out of this world, Gods Purpose reigns,as does His Grace. And finally there's no such thing as common Grace, the Grace of God reigns because its founded upon a saving purpose given to the saved before the world began, so its not common but its extraordinary in that it converts sinners to Christ ! They believe in Christ because of it Acts 18:27

Amen Brother !

The gift of Grace and Righteousness of the Lord Jesus Christ reigns [Greek: basileuo; exercise dominion over] as King for those He gave His Life for exclusively John 6:39; which means He as God, exercises the Kingly Working of His Effectual Power over them and it absolutely can't be resisted Eph. 3:7.

So the Apostle Paul in his epistle to the Church of God Christ gave His Life for Eph. 5:25 comforts them with these Words:

2 Thes. 2:16-17

16 Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace, 17 Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work.

2 Tim. 1:9

Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,

Yes, exactly. God's Grace Reigns as a King through Righteousness by non-imputation of sin Ps. 32:2 exclusively for the "all men" Titus 2:11 that were Chosen to Salvation in Christ Jesus Eph. 1:4-5, 2 Tim. 1:9 their Covenant Head and Surety Heb. 7:22; Is 53:6, even before they ever sinned in their federal head adam.

But the remainder of men shall reap the wages of their sins Rom. 6:23a; Rev. 21:8.

Grace reigned in the election of Grace ! Rom 11:5

5 Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace.
6 And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then it is no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.

There will always be a remnant of men that shall believe on Christ according to them having been a part of Gods Election of Grace. Their unbelief will not prevent it, like Paul, he was under the power of unbelief 1 Tim 1:13

13 Who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief.

But Grace and Mercy was shown and he was converted to believe on Christ vs 14

14 And the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.

Remember the Elect were given grace in Christ Jesus when ? Before the world began 2 Tim 1:9

9 Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,

Amen ! Because Grace Reigns in all the Election of Grace 2 Tim. 1:9, nothing they do or don't do, including unbelief, has the power to alter their Justified / Abjured Righteous status, and the Eternal Grace they were given in Christ Jesus before God Rom. 5:9-10. For His Mercy upon them is from everlasting to everlasting Rom. 9:23; Ps. 103:17; 1 Pet. 5:10.

Exactly 2 Tim 2:13

If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself.

1 Thes. 5:23-24

23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 24 Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.

So God's Elect can't fail, for to those He gives Grace 2 Tim. 1:9 He also gives Eternal Glory Ps. 84:11.

Romans 5:21 is actually teaching irresistible grace in Salvation:

21 That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.

I quote one writer here:https://www.godsonlygospel.com/by-grace-alone-23

“How does the power of the Grace of God manifest itself in the deliverance and salvation of a lost soul who is under the reign and dominion of sin? Romans 5:20,21 tells us: ‘…But where sin abounded, GRACE DID MUCH MORE ABOUND: that as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might GRACE REIGN through Righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord’. Here we see that God's grace must be powerful, to abound over sin, and to reign where once sin reigned: it is powerful because it is Sovereign, reigning where sin and death once reigned in the heart of the sinner. Let us go further. For grace to do this then, it must be powerful and IRRESISTIBLE, for if grace were not irresistible, no one would ever be saved. You see, grace does not merely help or assist us, it comes in and actually reigns where sin once reigned. It will not take ‘no’ for an answer!” No one can say ‘no’ to saving grace, for grace changes everything. “By the power of the Holy Spirit, the antagonistic will of the dead sinner has been overcome and he is now made willing in the day of God's power (grace; see Psa. 110:3).” None are made willing who have not first been made alive.

As spiritually dead sinners by nature, we are under the reigning power of death and sin incurred by Adams sin "That as sin hath reigned unto death," so we are born under the power of darkness Col 1:13

Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:

This deliverance is by the reign of the more powerful grace !

This phrase from my previous quote is extremely important,

Here we see that God's grace must be powerful, to abound over sin, and to reign where once sin reigned: it is powerful because it is Sovereign, reigning where sin and death once reigned in the heart of the sinner.

for its because grace is so much more dominant over sins reign, that its impossible for one whom Christ died, to remain under sins power and unbelief. If one for whom Christ died remains in unbelief and dies in their sins, then we must concede that sin through adam is of more power over and above grace that comes by and through Jesus Christ, and so adam and the devil win the mastery over Jesus Christ and defeats His reign of grace, which of course is insulting to even consider.

Grace reigns through righteousness by Jesus Christ our Lord and shows itself more preeminent over sin and death by giving the elect new life or regeneration. Its by grace one is quickened or made alive Eph 2:5

Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved)

The Calvinist sees God as a judge who does not act fairly or judge according to set rules, but judges according to his own whims that do not have to make sense to those who believe justice and judgment should be fair, reasonable, and just.

The Calvinist view God as above the law and above question and who has to explain nothing and who does whatever he pleases and calls it good no matter whether it appears evil or not. The Bible talks about unjust judges. An unjust judge is one who will clear the guilty for no reason other than he wants to or who condemns the just no matter how humbly and fervently the just pleads for mercy.

Gods Grace is especial

The scripture everywhere indicates grace as distinguishing, discriminating and particular. Grace is never common or indeterminate . Here are some clear representations of distinguishing grace.

Sovereign Particular Election Rom 11:5

Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace.

Rom 9:11

11 (For the children being not yet born, neither having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of him that calleth)

Grace reigns through righteousness because Grace being Gods Spiritual Power/Exertion makes dead sinners alive. Eph 2:5

5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened[made alive] us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved)

Salvation is through the power and grace of God, which makes spiritually dead sinners alive, and this in conformity with the sovereign will of God apart from the will of the dead sinner.
