Floyd Mayweather VS Conor McGregor

Not the smart money. The next great white hope always brings out people. Jerry Clooney made a mint on that sentiment. Same song. Same ending. All Conor can hope for is that Mayweather is indifferent and moves around playing defense and counter and keeps him in it for a few rounds...or that Mayweather's hands explode...or that the wheels just fall off or have during the long idle.

None of that is likely and one of the best defensive boxers of all time shouldn't have much trouble with a guy who isn't a boxer.

Is it on yet?
My younger cousin has it on his computer (he knows how to get free), but he has a friend over, I'm not invited. I don't know that I would pay for it either when we can watch it all at a later date. I think Conor basically started this event and made it as big as it is. I just hope Conor doesn't get embarrassed.

That's where Vegas makes the money, proposition bets. Conor did OK, it was very entertaining.
I know Mayweather is relatively old, but that was an impressive way to debut for Conor. He really surprised. I suspected at best he'd flurry early and try to take it in three to four, then be done by five or six with a moral victory. He was closer than I think anyone who knew boxing had any real reason to expect.

Kudos.

My cousin said his heart was beating out of his chest, he was so excited about this fight. I didn't realize how much he was enjoying until he said this was the best boxing match he'd ever seen :chuckle: (he's 31) - At the end he said "damn" - he was really rooting for Conor. I was too, but I figured he'd lose.

He lost the way I thought he would and for the reason I thought he would, but a heck of a lot later than I thought it would happen. Man...either he's the most naturally gifted first timer I've seen or Mayweather has faded a bit more than I thought. Certainly in the power department or it should have been earlier. Still, no reason to slight Conor for fighting the fight in front of him and doing more than he had a right to expect.

He should retire and live off the interest of the prize money. :D But now he's the great hope and that can get him a couple of additional paydays.

Floyd still had more power and stamina in the end, he was never really hurt. He just went in for the kill much later than expected. He usually isn't the aggressor in his fights, it took a while to figure out McGregor's style.

Yeah as Maywetather is undefeated but was kind of wanting him to lose. Despite not liking both boxers. As both of the boxers can get a bit arrogant. But still would love to at once if he lost, would love for Floyd to had been humbled.

1 Corinthians 2:7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory: 2:8 Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.

Nothing new, under the sun - the outcome of the fight will depend on which of the two fighters succeeds in getting the other to fight his fight.
