I have been volunteering at Fisher House 5 days a week and 7 hours average, doing yard work.

It is hot but because I enjoy gardening, I don't mind at all.:)

People at Fishers house love what I am doing:)

Yes, it is Army hospital.

They value me greatly because they don't have any volunteer doing yard work.

Well, normally I try to avoid being outside but when it comes to gardening, I don't mind at all.

It is so hot that I have to water for two hours by hand daily. Their sprinkler system is broken and they don't have budget to fix it.

I ask someone to water when I am off which is Mondays and Tuesdays.

Every morning, I am so looking forward to do the task I gave myself.

I usually get up at 5 and get ready for fisher house, and get there before seven.

There are so many things to do there for me.

There are hardly anyone there on the weekends and holidays. And that's the best time for me because it is so peaceful.

They let me work anytime.

When you wake up excited to start the day and looking forward to working hard and enjoying it at the same time... what a good feeling to have. That's so great for both mind and body.

I hope you have many more mornings like that ahead of you.

I feel very tired when I go my weekly shopping, but I am never tired when I am doing gardening.

I was feeling depressed lately because I finished all my own yard work. I finally satisfied with my yard. I made it efficient that I don't have to do much work anymore.

Now God gave me fisher house work which I am so grateful.

But I still have to take care of my own yard too. So I am quite busy. I also continually working out at gym so I am strong enough to do yard work daily.

I usually catch up all the yard work and house hold chores on my day offs.

I can do this because I don't need much sleep.

I know it is and I would pay $20 an hour for good work when i needed it. Problem here is the workers who are fair do it as a side job and are unable to do it often.

When younger, i would cut miles of hay with a tractor. It is all the trimming for fancy lawns, which I dislike most. maybe I will move into my condo full time, which is my future plan. Now, my house is nice for me and to tell the truth, I only keep the yard up to appease snobby neighbours.

It's great to do something that you enjoy and at the same time helping others that way. :)

That's great meshak,

Keep up the good work.

I enjoy gardening and some yard work too, among other outside projects, landscaping, etc.

Are there other volunteers who help with the yard work?
