It would be nice if we could get rid of the 'M' word...you know, 'moron'. But then we'd have to get rid of the 'R' word (retard) and a whole bunch of other words. Before long we'd get to the 'G', 'J/Y', 'S' words and we wouldn't even resemble the 'C' word anymore at that point so......Oh, it's so confusing!!!

Fair question I must admit.

I would say in response that history and facts are history and facts. They should not change based on who writes about them.

Catholicism on the other hand is a belief system, a systematic theological organic faith, and not just simply historical facts. Ergo the people who write about it should be the people who know about it. If I were to make an analogy, anybody could write about the mechanics of sending a man to Mars, but only the writing of a rockect scientist would really be worth rerading.

Scholars. Its such a broad term that could mean anything. And considering how university campuses are bastions of extremist leftistism, "scholar" is not a word that makes me feel very warm and fuzzy.
