Well it seems what I said was inaccurate, but still, the law says that "a person born before 5/24/1934 of an alien father and a U.S. citizen mother who has lived in the U.S" is a U.S. citizen. How do you know that Obama wasn't born before then? How do you know Obama wasn't born in Hawaii? How do you know that his father wasn't really a U.S. citizen? How do you know that the year of Christ's birth wasn't inaccurately recorded and we aren't actually in the year 1935 right now? In the end we really only have testimonies and documents, and both of those point to Obama being a natural born citizen. I think targeting the legitimacy of Obama's citizenship because his father was African stinks of racism. His life is what it is; I don't see how he would be any different based on what side of an artificial, arbitrary border he was born.

Roger Calero of the Socialist Workers' Party was on the ballot in my state and he was born in Nicaragua to Nicaraguan presidents. Obviously if people who aren't natural born citizens are permitted to run for president it's possible the country could elect an immigrant president. Do you really expect the judicial branch to lead a coup against a democratically elected president based just on where he may or may not have been born?

No, I don't really care about what the U.S. Constitution says about the qualifications for a President. If people want a 30 year old president, or a president who happened to be born on the other side of a line, I think they should get it.

Is American law really infallible though? There have been all sorts of changes to the law. I mean, a few years ago Obama wouldn't be qualified to run for president because his father was black. Now he wouldn't be qualified to run for president because of where he and his father were born (if that were true, which it probably isn't anyways.) Is that really so different? Where a person is born and what they look like aren't things that they have any control over, so I don't see how that makes them somehow less qualified to be considered my equal. (Equal in the sense that we should both be eligible to run for president.)

Where a person is born can also indicate to some degree what a person will look like, as "nations" (or ethnic groups, races, what have you) are defined in part by their common ancestral home to a "national" geographical territory.

Nazism is a type of corporatist (capitalist) authoritarianism. The term "Nazi" has strong historical implications to the German National Socialist Workers Party and its anti-semitic, antiziganeur, German nationalist ideology ; it is ahistorical to just call any authoritarian capitalist a "Nazi." Nazism is not socialism. The Nazis chose to include the word socialist in their party name to make demagogic appeals to the German working class. They did not actually want to build socialism. Socialism is internationalist and egalitarian.
