Is the doctrine of original sin doctrinal? or just theological speculation.
please explain your understanding of "original sin".
That as result of adam eating from the apple, all humans(after adam) inherit a sinful nature.

Rom 7:8 But sin, seizing an opportunity through the commandment, produced in me all kinds of covetousness. For apart from the law, sin lies dead. 9 I was once alive apart from the law, but when the commandment came, sin came alive and I died. 10 The very commandment that promised life proved to be death to me. 11 For sin, seizing an opportunity through the commandment, deceived me and through it killed me. 12 So the law is holy, and the commandment is holy and righteous and good.
Rom 5:12 Therefore, just as sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because all sinned
13 for sin indeed was in the world before the law was given, but sin is not counted where there is no law.
The sin was not eating a apple (metaphor) but wanting to be like God.

"you will be like God, knowing good and evil" (Genesis 3:5).
Once humankind became aware through conscience what they knew to be right and wrong. They have quite often chosen wrong. Which is a continued human problem today. Many professed Christian's consciences are deadened by evil today.
