The FBI has released a 15-page document warning of the dangers of “anti-government, identity-based, and fringe conspiracy theories.” The law enforcement agency says that these are “very likely to motivate some domestic extremists to commit criminal, sometimes violent activity.” The document seems to recommend increased social media and web censorship.

The FBI has released a 15-page document warning of the dangers of “anti-government, identity-based, and fringe conspiracy theories.” The law enforcement agency says that these are “very likely to motivate some domestic extremists to commit criminal, sometimes violent activity.” The document seems to recommend increased social media and web censorship.

I suppose the truth would be found if we knew whether or not the report advocated more censorship. Do you know if it did? If so, we're staggering down the road to a populist dictatorship a lot faster than I thought.

The ugliness we've seen in public office lately, probably has a lot to do with increasing violence by people affected by those ideologies. But reversing this trend isn't going to happen by "cracking down."
