Civic stance on homosexuality

In the deluge of news about Orlando, I'm concerned that there is an effort by the Left--big media, entertainment and education--to confuse the civic or legal stance on homosexuality that now exists with that of Christians personally. To compare, some states now have legalized marijuana. In that case, 'legalized' means a civic arrangement has been made for some people to use what has been shown to be destructive.

Megan Kelly: those people were just there to have a good time...
Eric on the 5: those people just love each other and then this creep breaks in...

We don't want to confuse pluralism with an endorsement of homosexuality. But what Muslims will have to learn, more than Christians, is that civic/legal arrangements are made in this country that deeply conflict with closely-held beliefs. Homosexuals will have to learn that there is no imaginary state where you can ridicule such closely-held beliefs without some risks. Not in this life or world. Only in Lennon's 'imagine-airy' state.

The shifting legal/civil position does not give the Left the right to police people's minds, which is why religious liberty options should be preserved, and why those homosexuals who have forced people they don't know or like to be involved in their weddings is stupidity and oxymoronic.

The American standard is still based on the 'individual' rather than 'society'- naturally, this makes for a very adversarial system.
However, 'adversarial' is not a bad term here. What it means is that if a person treads on another, then rather them have the ability to serve an inquisitorial gambit on them, they instead have to be an adversary.

The Left, right now, are trying to reverse that standard, making it to where people who do not fall into a common social construct should face an inquisition- that is, they feel that they can determine where you stand and what you dictate.

In the UK, an inquisitorial system of government has been the case for most of it's history. So it's no surprise that they have no qualms with limiting free speech or taking away arms.

Sodomy, like adultery, should be a crime. Stop saying homosexual. You can use a derogatory term like queer or fag, but not a validating name.

Sodomy is any type of anal or oral sex, it's not necessarily specific to homosexuality- a heterosexual couple can easily fall within the ranks of sodomy.

The Bible basically denounces any type of sex that is not missionary and in volition of procreation or marital bonding.

Of course, this cuts out homosexuality completely, as God does not recognize either gay marriage and they cannot perform without committing sodomy.

You'd have to arrest a lot of heterosexual married couples.

Homosexual is an adequately respectful term, but in casual conversation would likely be exchanged for the word gay. Some homosexuals refer to themselves as queer, so they may not see it as the slur you intend it to be, as you find homosexual to be too validating. There was a time when the term homosexual could be seen as disparaging, but these days, although the term homosexual is less likely to be used in casual conversation and more likely to be used in scholarly documents, there's probably no place on the internet where you'll see the word homosexual used more frequently than right here at TOL.

Also: The first known use of the word homosexual was in 1892, and according to Dictionary.com, homosexual is worth 22 points in Scrabble, and 24 points in Words With Friends. :)

Sodomy can easily be illegal and the behavior will stop when the first child molester is executed. I won't toss the faggot off a building. A hanging for his pedophilia will curb the behavior.

What part of the fact that sodomy is engaged in by heterosexuals (including lots of married couples who are non-pedophiles) do you not understand? It's not just a homosexual thing. In this you differ from ISIS only in your method of execution.

All that matters for me is God's stance on homosexuality. However, a Christian is not to go and kill people because of it. I am to pray that the person/s involved to see their wrong, repent, and come to Jesus to be saved/amend their lives. One of the problems is that those in favor of homosexuality are not happy only with legalizations. They expect all to approve of their sick behavior. Therefore, as Christ said the Christian will be looked down upon because of their beliefs. Some denominations have relented to the pressure. Christ will separate the goats from the lambs in the end.
