Answer: Is the earth a globe?

Anything other than an unequivocal "yes, the earth is a globe" will be an admission that you think the earth is flat, and will prove our point.

It is an answer, like it or not, who are you that I (or anyone else here) needs to to bow to your terms? Just more arrogance.

You mean that's why Clete is not buying my attempt, you're just a follower of Clete, with no mind of your own.

I really don't care what Clete is buying, or you--Judge Wrongly, or Yoda Divider.

You're the only ones I know who think I've ruined my reputation, big deal. You guys are nobodies to me.

Feels good to not be under the law, especially yours. Thanks for liberating me, chump.

You just proved my point.

I said that anything other than an unequivocal "yes, the earth is a globe" would be an admission that you hold to flat earth.

And what did you do?

Not “yes.” Not “the earth is a globe.” Just insults, deflection, and wounded pride.

So thank you for conceding the point.

Admit it, Dave, you'll never answer "yes, the earth is a globe," because it's a matter of your pride at this point. Instead of being humble, and admitting that you believe the earth is flat, you're going to be prideful, and continue to obfuscate and evade, like a child caught with his hand in the cookie jar, coming up with excuses for why he's reaching into it.

I would like to remind you:

Pride goes before a fall.

Perhaps an update would be a good idea. Dave is referring to what is currently available via this link on the bottom of the main page: https://theologyonline.com/help/terms/

Yeah, I'm aware. I'll let Sherman know.

But this is the second time in this thread I've given him the link to the current rules thread. He's intentionally ignoring it.

Dave, did you know that it's also against the rules to insult the admins here?

9. Thou SHALL NOT disrespect TOL moderators and admins (if you are asked by a TOL moderator to alter a post, your signature, avatar, or other input on TOL, please respect that request). If you have been banned, please wait-out your ban. Please do not re-register using a new username unless you have made a special arrangement with the TOL staff.

I will not answer or make any more comments on flat earth on this thread, this thread is not about that subject.

Respect the topic of this thread.

"Ad hominem refers to several types of arguments where the speaker attacks the character, motive, or some other attribute of the person making an argument rather than the substance of the argument itself. This avoids genuine debate by creating a diversion often using a totally irrelevant, but often highly charged attribute of the opponent's character or background."--Wiki

I believe every one who debate here, or any where, should at least be discouraged from insults, and be banned for a period of time if they continue.

Name-calling, ridicule, and other insults from anyone are not good for debate.

I don't want an administrator to be able to say to me, are you really this dense, if I cannot say it back to him.

Other wise you have a double standard.

@DFT_Dave There is a reason that rules adds WITHOUT CAUSE to rule #4

4. Thou SHALL NOT call other TOL members names without cause.

You are either dense or playing dumb if you don't understand what we are discussing here.

There is no acceptable causes in good debate for insults.

Who decides what are a good causes and which ones are not. Everyone will always say they were justified to call some else an idiot.

All of the above commandments are subjective in nature and will be determined on a case by case basis by the TOL staff.
I'd rather that you have a sensible discussion with us. We don't always get what we want.

Now you're accusing me of not being sensible. You think you are right, and I'm only sensible when I agree with you, and if I don't you can insult me, correct? Seems to me if I insult you it will not "end well" for me.

You can say you're right and that I am wrong for good reasons without name-calling and ridicule.

Do you agree or disagree with the definition of ad hominem? post #1745
