The word "lamb" that is found 27 times also points to the Baptist who is preparing the way for the first coming which must shortly come to pass. The Baptist is just one of His servants that were named John.

A reason to believe an early Apocalypse. Victorinus wrote a commentary with missing churches. Eusebius wrote a Church History and mentions 6 of the seven churches but never connects them with the Apocalypse. This suggests an early version of the Apocalypse that did not contain the churches.

A visit to Ephesus by John Chrysostom at the turn of the fifth century. Jerome was finishing the Vugate which would include the Apocalypse. At that time five of the seven dynasties of Rome had fallen. Chrysostom replaced seven corrupt bishops and may have spent some time on the isle of Patmos.

A Russian astronomer named John Chrysostom as the writer of the Apocalypse and the year as 395. Nikolai Alexandrovich Morozov found it in the stars. His book, "Thunderstorm and Tempest", was published in 1907. Chrysostom's boat did run into a thunderstorm on his way to Ephesus in 401.
