Same meaning, repent means to change your mind, man changes his mind about his way vs Gods way when he comes to Christ. God repents/changes His mind on some things too, doesnt mean confession of sins except in english.
The biblical meaning is to change your mind, plain and simple.

They hate that, they would rather play with smoke and mirrors and mans logic, instead of Gods, they think they can add to His word and make it better or more Holy.

The Bible defines its own terms. I don't need a man-made dictionary to understand God's Word.
yes, even when they are flat out shown their error, they wont come off of it, its better to pretend that God confesses sin (since God repents) than for them to admit they are wrong about the meaning.

I believe God is immutible. He does not change. He is not "open" to change, depending on man's actions. He commands repentance, and judges accordingly.
