I have a question: Is hate really the proper word?
It helps if you read the whole thing. Because in that truncated quote, this was the very next line: I recognize the legal necessity and its conformity to the laws of the compact. I'm no more "for it" than I am "for racism" because I'd defend the right of the Klan to march peaceably.
There was a not/no error, but it shouldn't have confused and this isn't the first time you've been present for my Klan analogy or any number of clear distinctions between legal right and personal, moral valuation.

I've never used the search bit with much success. Probably a trick to it.
I'm one of the worst to ask because I suppose aCW's threads are the place to get the best sense of it and I've mostly avoided them, haven't read most of what's there. I only know about Stripe because he used the term in a discussion I had with him recently. I'm reasonably sure his opinion is in line with Stripe's on the subject.
