Equality ... the right to determine the person you love and wish to spend your life with on the basis of LOVE ... not gender.

Let's be real. It's actually about the person you wish to spend your life having sex with, and having everyone recognize it as legit.
Two men love each other and want to be roommates their whole life, no one cares. If they're concerned that their best friend have access to their property and the ability to make medical decisions on their behalf there are wills and powers of attorney and the like.
Evangelicals wholeheartedly endorse men loving men and women loving women. It's the sex that is sinful.
Anal sex is never the equal of man(penis) and woman(vagina) traditional sex!
No-one has any right to over rule gender and its foundational role in society.
Homosexual lust is never the equal of man and woman love.
In the name of love, so called, does not justify gay marriage.

:think: So the only reason ANY couple marries is so that others see their private, sexual relationship as legit. Do you find that a decent reason for heterosexuals to marry? Good thing love has nothing to do with marriage.
Most people who are content in their own lives do not care. Then there is the whole "homosexuals should receive the DP" crowd.

Well technically, gay marriage IS legal, so the only necessary justification is that of a *justice* of the peace to say "I now pronounce you .... ".

Any marriage is equal to any wonderful marriage if it is wonderful.
Not enough marriages are brilliant and wonderful, so good gay marriage is valuable.
I cannot discuss any sexual acts with you on this forum, but I can ask youi why you wonder about the details of gay marriages. Do you think about this a lot? Have you ever considered that some gay marriages might not make love as you think they do?

Just you try (physically) over-ruling any couple's marriage, and see what the law will do to you!
So Hetro-couples never experience lust for each other?

Polygamous marriage? I personally understand polygamy to be 'many sexual partners', like a wandering need.
I personally understand Polyamory to be about 'more than one love' which might define a marriage of more than two persons. I don't knock these if they can bring contented happiness to all partners.
Incest is a crime, mate. Although different countries define incest differently.

so you think the government should have no role to play in controlling sexual behavior?
It may come as a surprise to the OP, but time spent engaged in sex, regular or otherwise, is a small fraction of married life!
Up until relatively recently, "gays" could not engage in sex within marriage because such unions were not recognized by the state!
The government cannot force Churches to perform or recognize "gay marriage", based on the separation of Church and State.
Based on that same principle, however, the Church is not entitled to determine the only definition of "marriage" within a secular society!
