Baton Rouge Unrest

Meaning (like Ferguson MO) the officers involved were justified in using deadly force because their lives were endangered.
Apparently lying face down on the ground with 2 officers on top qualifies as "endangerment" - according to "aCultureWarrior!"

The problem is that our conservative friends contend that every citizen has a constitutional right to carry a gun, but then proceed to play the "endangerment" card when black citizens are killed - based on the underlying assumption that they all have a weapon that they intend to use.

does that matter?

the indians came here from elsewhere also

Ha ha...!
So let's agree that Black Americans stretch back quite as far, or even further, than your lot.... in North America.
I notice that yet another Black man has been shot dead by police whilst preparing to show his driving licence, or so that is what is reported on BBC News.

I heard something about 100+ Black folks have been shot dead by police this year, or something similar?

Uh huh....... another immigrant?

To the United States? Nope.

In my opinion it is impossible for true Christians to be racist. Jesus was a middle eastern Galilean Aramaic speaking peasant of the 2nd order (hand-workers, nagara, or Greek Tekton). You might need to radically adjust your p[rejudice levels. :)

Did he riot and protest over policemen simply doing their jobs?

Hint: the answer is no.

What amuses me are the darkies holding signs saying "Stop killing us." So they all identify with Alton Sterling, huh? I mean, if I did it, that would be stereotyping and racial prejudice.

But since they're willing to do it all by themselves...

Well, I just have one thing to say to Jesse Jackson and the BLM movement.

"And here's a word for" Jesse Jackson: "You're not welcome in the South. Things would be a whole lot better if you shut your big black mouth!" - "Lyndon, Lyndon."

I do wish, however, to note that we have a determinate set of people to blame for the current plight of this nation:

1. Abraham Lincoln
2. The writers of the 14th amendment
3. The justices who presided over Brown v. Board of Education
4. Martin Luther King Jr.
5. Lyndon B. Johnson.

Thanks to all of you. Thanks a lot. :nono:

Baton Rouge officers in police shooting cleared in earlier use-of-force complaints
Thursday, July 7, 2016

BATON ROUGE — Four previous "use of force" complaints were lodged against the two white police officers in the video-recorded shooting death of a black man and they were cleared in all of them, according to internal affairs documents released today.

The complaints included three black men and a black juvenile. One of the men was shot when police said he pointed a gun at them and the others were injured during arrests and a police pursuit in a vehicle.

These officers have been accused of using excessive force 4 times - all involving black males.

Sterling was shot 5 times at close range - both their video cameras were mysteriously dislodged.

Link each incident showing the circumstances involved and whether or not the officers were cleared of the charges.

Sterling was shot 5 times at close range - both their video cameras were mysteriously dislodged.

The officers were wrestling a large black male who not only according to reports earlier had been "brandishing" a gun, but had a long rap sheet which included violent behavior. When the officers saw that the suspect was going for his gun, they used deadly force.

How many rounds of ammunition should the officers have used...1 each, two each?

Why do you liberals blatantly lie like you do?

Sterling was face up and as the video shows (the movement of his right shoulder) attempting to go for the gun in his right pants pocket.

With the advent of the video cameras on cellphones, many of the cases that would have been routinely dismissed in the past have brought into question the actions of the officers involved.

How could a man with 2 officers already on top trained to deal with these situations be allowed any opportunity to go for a gun - a weapon whose very existence has yet to be proven!

5 shots at point-blank range with 2 officers already on top is problematic at best, especially if there was no gun involved. The fact that the authorities have yet to verify the presence of a gun brings into question any justification for the shooting.

The video showed that the violent perpetrator was not face down like you claimed earlier, but on his back and resisting arrest.

Yet another lie from cop-hater jgarden:

BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) – The Latest on the fatal police shooting of a black man in Baton Rouge. (all times local):

4:25 p.m.

Court records indicate the man who was killed during an altercation with two Baton Rouge police officers couldn’t have legally had a gun at the time of the shooting because he was a convicted felon.

Alton Sterling was killed early Tuesday. Police said he was armed and an eyewitness said he saw an officer pull a gun out of Sterling’s pocket.

Sterling pleaded guilty in 2011 to being a felon in possession of a firearm and illegally carrying weapons. A judge in Baton Rouge sentenced him to five years in prison, giving him credit for time served.

Court records show Sterling also was arrested in May 2009 after an officer confronted him outside a store where he was selling CDs. It was a different store than the one where he was killed.

A police report says Sterling tried to reach into his pocket when the officer was frisking him, ignored the officer’s commands to keep his hands on a police vehicle and turned to run away.

The report says the officer grabbed Sterling by the back of his shirt and pushed him to the ground and gave loud verbal commands to stop resisting.

The report says a gun fell from Sterling’s waistband while the officer was “wrestling” with him on the ground. Other officers arrived and helped arrest him...

5 shots a point-blank range seems excessive, given that there were already 2 officers on top subduing him.

In your cop hating opinion any use of deadly force by police would seem excessive.
