Abortion restriction against right to own body

Seen this argument before. Rather than making it about a human life with a heartbeat, it becomes a self-centered call to 'my irresponsible rights!'

The microphone was supposed to be turned off before she got that far.

Governor Greg Abbott of Texas signed the abortion bill on Wednesday, saying: “Our creator endowed us with the right to life and yet millions of children lose their right to life every year because of abortion. In Texas, we work to save those lives.”

She is an inexperienced, uneducated child who doesn't realize the miracle that she and her husband can perform in the creation of a child. She's an idiot child herself of modern culture who wants to thumb her nose at God and play at being a whore for most of her young life without suffering any consequences.

Pray for her diseased soul.

Weird accent for a Texan.

Be careful Lon, you're going to upset a lot of people on TOL who embrace libertarian ideology, i.e. "It's MY body and I can do with it as I please!"
Granted, they pretend to be anti-abortion, thinking that once a woman becomes impregnated that it's no longer her body and that she has to ditch that immoral and evil ideology, but either people have a supposed "right" to privacy" and to go against God's Word or they don't.
Which is it Lon?

Would that be the same Greg Abbott who was recently endorsed by Donald Trump, who during his Presidency appointed two pro abortion Justices to SCOTUS and has put in place the right Circuit Court Judges (Trump appointee James Ho or the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals shot down the Mississippi 'heartbeat bill") to make sure that Roe v Wade isn't overturned or that these heartbeat bills are never deemed "constitutional" as long as they're Justices and Judges?

"Right?" We are able to 'get away with it' rather. A murder, for however many days it takes to put them away. Same with every other action. We aren't 'free' then, to go against God.

That was a mouthful! (run-on sentence).

For me, CW:

Psalm 20:7
It means I'm not so much into politics though this is certainly a political concern as well.

It's a difficult thing to adjudicate for sure here. I mean to decide, to determine, to figure out. It just is, and it's because there's no middle ground between seeing the fetus and embryo as a human being, and seeing it as human but in the same way that a skintag on a human is human, that it's nothing to concern yourself with in having it removed.

Of course we of faith believe the mother has a little human baby in there, that he or she is a little human baby in there, and all the medical data is consistent with our belief, but it's irrelevant to the legal doctrine that we don't have rights, or that they don't 'vest', until we are born.

And in a world where rights set the edges to our laws, and that we are a nation of laws, abortion is a difficult problem to solve.

My thought is that self-defense is justification for killing a man sometimes. But we don't just presume that every killing must be self-defense and pursue it no further. Maybe we should question a mother who terminates her pregnancy, like how we would question someone who killed a man in self-defense. Just to make sure that it's not just an indiscriminate murder.

The problem with any justification, is it sets the clock back to allowance. There is an inequity in the comparison of justifiable against criminals vs justifiable against the innocent unborn. I don't want to see a day where a 12 year old who takes a morning after pill, is sent to a corrections facility. With others, the best counsel is 'have the child against the acts of the perp, and let a beautiful life be the epithet of a horrid inconceivable, unconscionable event. "I just want him out of me" is understandable, yet what laws 'should' be in position at this point?

I had one professor describe a scenario where you are accosted, wake up connected to another human also accosted. You are fine, he/she will die unless you stay connected until their blood is purified. His question: what would you do?

22 “If men fight, and hurt a woman with child, so that she gives birth prematurely, yet no harm follows, he shall surely be punished accordingly as the woman’s husband imposes on him; and he shall pay as the judges determine. 23 But if any harm follows, then you shall give life for life, 24 eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, 25 burn for burn, wound for wound, stripe for stripe.

Was just talking to a former TOL member who asked for biblical proof that harm to the fetus is a sin. This particular scripture is incredibly clear.
