@granite- That's not the point.

The point is that aCultureWarrior wants to call the rest of us "Moral relativists" and to argue that "legislation = approval" and then wants to legalize abortion in cases of rape.

Well, RP, I don't give a damn what that grotesque lying closet case thinks of anything or anybody. Maybe you should join the club.

That said, I think this is an extremely dicey scenario, and very, very delicate matter, and when it comes to rape and abortion, I'm reluctant to be dogmatic or flippant.

No, which is why I used the word "if." A danger to the mother's life is my litmus test. And it's an obvious concern given this girl's age.

Then your argument is pointless. You cannot establish argumentation on the force of a scenario.

Before you go moving the goal posts any further Aaron, let's put a face behind your story.

SWEDEN: 20 Muslim invaders gang rape 11-year-old Swedish girl in public bathhouse

To even suggest the *circumstances* of how she got pregnant and her age would make it perfectly acceptable to kill her unborn baby, makes you pro-abortion.

Oh and BTW, why have you not voted in the poll?

:rotfl:

Uh, yeah, you can. People do it all the time, pal. Contingencies and what-ifs are there to help us prevent, as much as possible, anybody getting caught flat-footed in a real-world situation, and we're here on TOL to discuss and what-if all day long.

You do remember where you are, right?

What I am saying is that you cannot rest the weight of argumentation on the 'what if's'. If her life is not proven to be in danger, there is no justifiable reason to even suggest the murder of the child 'just in case' her life 'may' at some point be in danger. This is ludicrous. This is nothing more than murder for convenience.

The whole point of the OP was to call him out. He was in mind when the OP was made (Not by me.)

Its not so much that I care as I want to expose him for what he really is.

That's one aspect of it only. I think it's an interesting case study and I was simply surprised at many of the responses given in the other thread, which this topic was derailing. I thought it merited its own thread.

If aCultureClown wants to come here and further embarrass himself, so be it, but I couldn't honestly care less.

G-d bless the children of this world, both born and unborn, who struggle to make their way.

He loves them and so, too, should we.

Wish I could pos rep you again, but already did in another thread.

I'm not voting because the poll is badly worded.

The thing is this WoZ.
No matter how that baby got there I would never tell someone to kill their kid.

Abortion being legal for this 11 year old isn't the same as telling her to kill her kid.

Well, it is saying that if she decides to, then that's perfectly acceptable. More than that, though, the OP is attempting to show that some people see abortion's morality as relative, though they might claim otherwise.

I don't think I agree. I don't think Legal = Perfectly Acceptable.

Relative as in having exceptions? I think I'd fall into that category.

WOW

I am really impressed with TOL here

73% said NO

I wonder what the % would be nationwide in a non theological seting?

Obviously the two Libertarians above know nothing about moral relativism, as being against legislation that requires an 11 year old rape victim to carry the baby to term, is entirely different than legislating laws that give sexual deviants certain rights such as 'marriage'.

And since we're on the topic of embarrassing oneself Aaron, how would voting for a pro abortion Presidential candidate such as Gary Johnson and the pro abortion Libertarian Party Platform that you voted for in the last election (and if Jr. had been out of diapers, stated he would had vote for as well), somehow put a stop to abortion?

And how does voting for the Libertarian Party Platform that promotes immoral acts such as homosexuality, pornography and recreational drug use, just to name a few, make you some kind of Godly person that is able to judge someone who has the best interest of society and in this case an 11 year old girl who was traumatized by 20 filthy ragheads and very well might take her own life if told she had to carry the baby to term?

Inquiring minds need to know.
