    a shot in the dark

Im pretty sure Answers in Genesis started out with something more like what you describe for their ark models, but they likely tested them and found a need to put a proper prow and stern on it to keep it more stable. The Ark Encounter in Kentucky features a number of suppositions about...

How to respond to classical theists who dodge Open Theism arguments

You are undoubtedly the first, Lon, by every indication in this thread. You obviously don't want to know what the word means, i.e., what is it used to convey in context, and you obviously are standing your ground on a fallacious meaning because of your deeply held theological position. Then you...

Paul did not write Hebrews; we do not know who did

Well, now that everybody is all offended because i don't agree with your position, here's a pretty good discussion about Luke being the author of Hebrews Trinity Radio: DAVID ALLEN: Who Wrote Hebrews? Episode webpage: http://www.braxtonhunter.com/podcast/2025/1/3/david-allen-who-wrote-hebrews...

Paul did not write Hebrews; we do not know who did

Because Jesus spoke of two resurrections, not including His, of the just and the unjust. John would know about the two. But he would also know about the rapture resurrection from Paul, as Peter would have. Not to mention that Lazarus was resurrected before Jesus, and John was there.

Paul did not write Hebrews; we do not know who did

Peter knew about Paul's letters, and Paul wrote of a resurrection of those of the BOC who had fallen asleep in 1Thes 4. Why wouldn't John have known about them? And if he did know, wouldn't he have known to call the first resurrection of Rev 20 "the second", if it indeed applied to the whole...

Paul did not write Hebrews; we do not know who did

So you think there is a third resurrection ?

Paul did not write Hebrews; we do not know who did

There were actually two apostles named James, but neither were the James from Gal 2:12. But in @Nick M's defense, he wasn't trying to talk about that James, as is evident in tge context of his post. Thus is what I think you are doing regularly, you get triggered by certain buzzwords to repeat...

Paul did not write Hebrews; we do not know who did

Are you saying that the first resurrection in Rev 20 is only Israel, and the second resurrection, the “rest of the dead" is also only Israel?

Paul did not write Hebrews; we do not know who did

Yes, but Jesus will be ruling over the whole world. If the 12 only judge the twelve tribes, who is judging the rest of the world and who is judging the angels? Paul tells us.

Paul did not write Hebrews; we do not know who did

There are many Christians who willingly accept Hebrews as applicable to themselves, without having their theology threatened. It seems like only the MADists are so eager to keep it as only for Israel, despite the obvious connection to Paul even if it wasn't written by Paul. And I don't...

Paul did not write Hebrews; we do not know who did

Maybe there are two groups that receive eternal life. Maybe more. For instance, infants who die are not "believers", yet I think we both would say they receive eternal life. Did it? or did one group, that didn't have eternal life promises gain access to the eternal life of the other group...

Paul did not write Hebrews; we do not know who did

I appreciate that, but I wasn't the one that brought that topic up. We can move this to another thread, if you prefer. Paul talks about the Resurrection occurring for the believers (Christians) who have died: [1Th 4:13 KJV] But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them...

Paul did not write Hebrews; we do not know who did

He does? Here's one thing he says, that those who have died in Christ will be with Christ after the resurrection: 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18 KJV — For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall...

Paul did not write Hebrews; we do not know who did

I think you are right, and it seems like the resurrected saints will rule and reign with Him during the millennial kingdom. If that includes both Jewish and Gentile Christians, including the 12 apostles, I dont think there's anything to argue about.

Paul did not write Hebrews; we do not know who did

Of course there were 2 groups, but the middle wall of partition between them was broken down, making them no longer two, but one. Ephesians 2:12-14 KJV — That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no...

How to respond to classical theists who dodge Open Theism arguments

How modern? It was used by Webster in 1828 to define "repent": ---------- 3. To change the mind in consequence of the inconvenience or injury done by past conduct. Lest peradventure the people repent when they see war, and they return. Exodus 13:17. 4. Applied to the Supreme Being, to change...

Paul did not write Hebrews; we do not know who did

You were accusing me of ignoring the plain text, not your points. Why change the conversation? Then you agree that "plain reading of the text" is a mere smokescreen? Or begging the question? Of course everybody claims to believe they have the "plain reading of the text", because otherwise they...

I just hear this: Why was Satan told to partake of the ground?

I'm certain you are reading it wrong. God is the one speaking in both vs 1 and 2. You keep trying to insert some other accuser, but it isn't needed to understand the passage. And inserting one where it isnt needed makes you go off into weird speculations about what the passage means. Rather, it...

I just hear this: Why was Satan told to partake of the ground?

Just so you know, I don't always have time to peruse the different threads I've contributed to, so I might not see a response that doesn't directly address me by either quoting one of my posts or by using the "@" sign followed by my name (no spaces). I know that's your answer, because you've...
