    Lifting thread

During this experiment . . . I've been cheating, full disclosure. I started this thread to talk about lifting in general, and in particular my own workout, which was exclusive to the deadlift. My thinking then was that I wanted to keep lifting to a minimum, time-wise and also in the number of...

    Fasting thread

'Working on a fast rn, tonight will be 72 hours. Nothing but water, black coffee, and my meds. I haven't had any salt yet on this one, that's new for me (usually I'm having a pickle or two), but so far no signs of diminished electrolytes (muscle cramps). I'll have some salt water today if I...

    Lifting thread

So I did 260 LBS last week: 1. 5 2. 3 Along with my strength not being very good after this 108-hour fast week, also my form was just not very good, so this week I started by loading over 400 LBS on the bar and applied as much safe force as I could, fully knowing I would not lift the weight...

What Happens in Purgatory? Tim Staples

Nope I didn't change Hoping's post. He really said this. smh

What Happens in Purgatory? Tim Staples

Who said you should do that? That happens at baptism /faith. That's how you become gold, but gold still needs refining.

Your user name is Hoping. Figure it out.

What Happens in Purgatory? Tim Staples

The refiner's fire. Only pure gold is fit for Heaven, is all. And I doubt Purgatory will be much different from this life, it'll just take as long as it takes, to purge out all the dross from our personality and soul.

What Happens in Purgatory? Tim Staples

Is it? Or is it just your stupid user name which you yourself don't even recognize when you see it, because it's a mischaracterization of you, even though you chose it. So you do go to church? And invite people to church with you? OK, well that's something. It's not nothing.

Mortal sin, free will, and going to Communion

Not His doctrine. His sacrifice. I thought you were freed from sin. You equate being Catholic with sin? Yikes.

What Happens in Purgatory? Tim Staples

Hoping you commit sin. Nice. How are you preaching the Gospel? Are you bringing new converts to church? Or does church-going not really figure in to your view of what it means to be a Christian?

Mortal sin, free will, and going to Communion

Sigh. The scrupulosity's strong with this one. My point stands. You can't accuse Catholics like how you do, without also accusing Jesus Christ Himself. It starts with obeying your Lord. Go to Mass.

What Happens in Purgatory? Tim Staples

Fine. That doesn't distinguish you from Catholicism. Like I said, that might have been what your experience of Catholicism was, but that doesn't mean you weren't mistaken. Shrug.

What Happens in Purgatory? Tim Staples

Plain. What's the difference between you and Catholics then.

Mortal sin, free will, and going to Communion

Matthew 18:20 "where two or three are gathered together in my name" Acts 2:42 "And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread" Hebrews 10:25 "Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is" It's Mass. Stop being...

Mortal sin, free will, and going to Communion

Red herring. Red herring. Red herring. The institution of the office of a bishop is in the Bible.

What Happens in Purgatory? Tim Staples

The eternal sacrifice of Christ on the cross is the only "constant remedy for sin", not Purgatory. That might have been what happened with you, but it's possible to truly understand Purgatory and not use its existence as an excuse to sin.

I guess as long as that's not what you meant ... Of course if that's not what you meant, I don't understand the purpose of your post. You seemed to be trying to make a point, and if that wasn't your point I don't know what was.

    Lifting thread

Competition is also just called conventional but regardless, it engages the thighs /knees more during the start of the lift. Hip's OK. Decided. Canonical. 250 LBS 1. 5 +0 Canonical is basically an extended Romanian deadlift (RDL). The unrounding of your lower back while only bending your...
