Mortal sin, free will, and going to Communion

Not His doctrine. His sacrifice. I thought you were freed from sin. You equate being Catholic with sin? Yikes.

What Happens in Purgatory? Tim Staples

Hoping you commit sin. Nice. How are you preaching the Gospel? Are you bringing new converts to church? Or does church-going not really figure in to your view of what it means to be a Christian?

Mortal sin, free will, and going to Communion

Sigh. The scrupulosity's strong with this one. My point stands. You can't accuse Catholics like how you do, without also accusing Jesus Christ Himself. It starts with obeying your Lord. Go to Mass.

What Happens in Purgatory? Tim Staples

Fine. That doesn't distinguish you from Catholicism. Like I said, that might have been what your experience of Catholicism was, but that doesn't mean you weren't mistaken. Shrug.

What Happens in Purgatory? Tim Staples

Plain. What's the difference between you and Catholics then.

Mortal sin, free will, and going to Communion

Matthew 18:20 "where two or three are gathered together in my name" Acts 2:42 "And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread" Hebrews 10:25 "Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is" It's Mass. Stop being...

Mortal sin, free will, and going to Communion

Red herring. Red herring. Red herring. The institution of the office of a bishop is in the Bible.

What Happens in Purgatory? Tim Staples

The eternal sacrifice of Christ on the cross is the only "constant remedy for sin", not Purgatory. That might have been what happened with you, but it's possible to truly understand Purgatory and not use its existence as an excuse to sin.

I guess as long as that's not what you meant ... Of course if that's not what you meant, I don't understand the purpose of your post. You seemed to be trying to make a point, and if that wasn't your point I don't know what was.

Competition is also just called conventional but regardless, it engages the thighs /knees more during the start of the lift. Hip's OK. Decided. Canonical. 250 LBS 1. 5 +0 Canonical is basically an extended Romanian deadlift (RDL). The unrounding of your lower back while only bending your...

Mortal sin, free will, and going to Communion

My teachers are in the Bible. And what do you think Hebrews 10:25 alludes to anyway. "Not in the Bible" lol Hoping. lol.

What Happens in Purgatory? Tim Staples

How do you think this distinguishes you from Catholics? And define exactly what you mean by "died for". Does that mean your choices if you choose to sin, don't have any consequences? And why would they, if Jesus "died for" them?

Mortal sin, free will, and going to Communion

Yeah. 1st Timothy 3:1 Paul explicates "office of a bishop", which is an office, which is an institution, which was established by the Apostles personally, which was explicitly in the Bible intended to perpetuate "until the Lord comes". So the Lord hasn't come yet. So that means the...

    Climate Change? What Climate Change?

That's fine. Point was, I can get behind an effort to reverse desertification. As a way to fight against whatever forces make parts of the Earth look like Mars. Mars is an object lesson, we don't want to be like Mars, we should wage war on any part of our planet that putatively looks like...

Mortal sin, free will, and going to Communion

I told you before, you're the one who's rhetorically gifted, not me. Jesus wants us and instructs us to attend Mass on every Sunday (or Saturday evening; the vigil Mass), that's just the textbook obligation. Why is skipping Sunday Mass grave matter? That's up to Him, idk.

    Climate Change? What Climate Change?

Others have challenged the speaker's claim about reducing deserts as a way to reverse climate change (if it's real, and if we should try to change it): they claim that using more livestock will offset any improvements in global climate conditions with increases in methane emission. Nonetheless...

I'm fasting with zero carbs in part because I like the idea of insulin dropping. If I have a little carb, then I'll get a little insulin, and I like taking a break entirely from insulin while I'm fasting, that's one of the benefits of it for me. Incidentally I'm working on a 72-hour fast rn...
