    Questions Calvinists Can't Answer....

It's as simple as acknowledging the rest of the doctrine. Everybody's a baby at some point, and every baby is predestined or reprobate. The age at which the baby dies, whether it's one month or one hundred years, doesn't enter into the doctrine of unconditional election at all. Correct, my...

NT's use of singular and plural

Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. It doesn't seem as though Paul here is recognizing that there is more than one gospel. It seems like he's hitting "puree."

    Questions Calvinists Can't Answer....

It's not monolithic. I know many Calvinists believe every child who dies gets saved. It's like predestination doesn't apply to children. I can't say I find it consistent with the rest of Calvinist theology, but I don't find Calvinist theology self-consistent for other reasons anyway.

The Gospel of the Kingdom and the plot twist.

So you're saying there's more than one Christian or Church baptism in the Bible. So is it possible that we're talking about different aspects of the same baptism then? Like a physical aspect and an eternal aspect, but both aspects being of the same thing? There's obviously a difference...

The Gospel of the Kingdom and the plot twist.

Why are you convinced that Paul necessarily means baptize meaning water baptism, instead of baptize by the Holy Spirit only, and with no water? Is it because of something outside Scripture, or something internal to the Bible?

Its audience is Timothy. A Gentile sure, but a bishop, or overseer, or elder. I am not one of those. The Church, the Body of Christ. The Body of Christ and to those who might believe in Jesus.

    Fasting thread

One of my favorite parts of fasting is knowing that basically my insulin secretion system is on vacation all week. It doesn't have any reason to secrete insulin (even if all you eat is pure protein, you're still going to secrete some insulin) when you eat nothing. My body can recalibrate or...

    Lifting & Fasting

Over eight percent. But remember a ton of water comes off at the start and then the weight loss calms down in the middle of the week. That water is easy to gain back as it is easy to lose. I did consume creatine each day to minimize the weight loss due to water.

He acknowledged the earliest Church had hierarchy of some form. If you mean "rightly divide" then no, that wasn't written to me, that was written to Bishop Timothy. If you don't like the translation then call him Elder Timothy or Overseer Timothy but the point is as STP acknowledged, there is...

It's not "in the way that [I Idolater] think that the Catechism is authoritative," the Catechism is authoritative by any measure of that word. It is authoritative Catholicism. What I'm looking for is authoritative Mid Acts Dispensationalism. I'm not looking for authoritative Bob Enyart...

    Lifting & Fasting

(I pulled this post over from the exclusive fasting thread.) I've just completed the hardest 156-hour c. water fast, and it was a fast I lifted weights during. Yesterday was the hardest day of any fast I've ever had, and even after a decent night's sleep last night, I still feel relatively...

Si vis pacem parabellum doesn't register with Hoping. He thinks preparing for war is evil. Even though, as you're pointing out, it would have prevented war in this case. It's not the same as saying the West is responsible for Putin the Great Fool invading though. It is a reason to scrutinize...
