Eddie Redmayne was superb in the lead role and I enjoyed it, but unfortunately it was let down for me by Lashana Lynch's character who's chasing him. Her character was deeply unsympathetic, arrogant and annoying and I don't think her role was well written at all. A lot of her decisions end up...

I know what you mean but I think that scene works so well because it's left to the imagination to fill in the blanks. It's a beautiful ending to a beautiful film and I'll have to watch it again soon. The same with 'Her'. He was. Affleck is someone I rate more as a director than an actor but...

Spy/political/conspiracy thrillers are all genres that I enjoy when they're done right and like you, the one genre I don't go for in the main with film is comedy although I do love a decent comedy drama (The Holdovers) and there are exceptions (Groundhog Day). It was a pleasant surprise for me, much of the comedy at first stems around the uptight mayor of the place who wants to downplay the rumours until he has no choice but to realize that strange things are going on...and the acting is stellar.
