On May 1, 2020 1 in 20 truck drivers had lost their license to drive truck due violating drug and alcohol regulations. On May 1, 2021 more than 1 in 5 truck drivers had lost their license to drive due to drug and alcohol regulations. The number one drug being abused? Pot. Truck drivers used to be known for using speed and cocaine as they are known to keep a person awake. Now pot is consistently the number 1 abused drug and by a large margin over speed and coke.
