Thirty-two Republican women will join the next Congress, surpassing the record of 30 Republican women sent in 2006.

According to the Center for American Women and Politics, 32 GOP women will join the next Congress, surpassing the record of 30 Republican women sent in 2006. At least 24 Republican women so far will be headed to the House — including at least 13 new members — closing in on the party's 2006 House record of 25 women.

Republican Beth Van Duyne in Texas' 24th District declared victory after Democrat Candace Valenzuela conceded on Tuesday. In California's 48th, incumbent Democrat Harley Rouda has conceded to Republican Michelle Steel. Their wins would surpass the record of 25 Republican women elected to the House. CBS News has not yet called these races.

As several new Republican members are forming a "Freedom Force" to counter socialism, Rep. Byron Donalds appeared on “America’s Newsroom” to explain how the emerging group will "contrast" the “Squad.”

As several new House Republicans form a "Freedom Force" to counter socialism, Rep. Byron Donalds, R-Fla., explained Wednesday how the emerging group will "contrast" The Squad.

“Our goal, really, is to push a message of freedom and individual liberty, and, those times when we clash on policy ideas, we’ll be there front and center to make sure the way we view public policy will be heard by all Americans,” Donalds told “America’s Newsroom.”

The Freedom Force consists of Republican Rep.-elects Michelle Steel of California, Nicole Malliotakis of New York, Carlos Gimenez and Maria Elvira Salazar of Florida, Stephanie Bice of Oklahoma, Burgess Owens of Utah and Victoria Spartz of Indiana.
