What you believe about God and his Son Jesus Christ will determine whether or not you will be saved.
Salvation in the Old Testament and the New Testament is by faith in God and his Son Jesus Christ. Where there is no faith, there is no salvation.
We who are saved believe that Jesus has victoriously defeated sin, death and the devil and that because of the work of Christ that was done in our name and on our behalf we have been justified, sanctified and redeemed, and are complete "In Christ" Colossians 2:10. Those who believe that have saving faith.
Calvinist believe that God predestinates people to salvation or causes them to believe. The problem arises when the say that they have been predestinated to salvation but others have not. The others that have not, are damned to hell because they are unbelieving sinners. Some Calvinist believe that they (sinners) deserve to go to hell because they are sinners. No one will go to hell because of sin. We are all born after Adam, we are all sinners.
What will damn you to hell is negative beliefs in God and his Son Jesus Christ. To believe that God predestinates people to hell for no reason other than they were born after Adam is to believe that God is unjust. If God is unjust, that means that he is a sinner, or worse yet he is a murderous tyrant. Sorry folks, but if that is what you believe God is like, you are doomed. It is not possible to have saving faith in a God that would do such a terrible thing.
Calvinist have little to no faith in the atoning work of Christ. In spite of the many scriptures that tell us Jesus is the savior of the whole world and has atoned for the sins of everyone, Hebrews 2:9, they don't believe it. Sorry folks, if you don't believe in the atoning work of Christ for our sins and the sins of the whole world, 1 John 2:2, you are doomed.
If you want to be saved, repent from your negative beliefs about God and his Son Jesus Christ and embrace Christ and his Gospel as your only means of salvation.
