Why A Good Son Does Not Need Instructions

That's right, A good Son Does not need instructions. He knows what pleases his Father and he acts accordingly. If you need to be told what to do perhaps you do not have the Holy Spirit, who is the Christians teacher and guide. Do you really need to be told to love your wife? Do you really need to be told not to lie, steal and cheat?

Paul wrote, "Knowing this, THAT THE LAW IS NOT MADE FOR THE RIGHTEOUS MAN, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for the unholy and the profane, for murderers of fathers, for manslayers, for whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind (homosexuals) for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine" 1 Timothy 1:9, 10.

If any of the above fits you, then the law is for you. The law is NOT for the Christian. The Christian is called to live by faith and Spirit. This is why all through the Old Testament and into the New Testament it is taught, "That The Just Shall Live Faith" Romans 1:17.

The law has been replaced by the Holy Spirit, "For as many as are led by the Spirit of God , they are the Sons of God, Romans 8:14. When the Christian does wrong the Spirit convicts him of his sin, he then confesses that he did wrong and repents. We try to be good Sons and please the Father, but sometimes we fail. The Christian is not totally sanctified yet, he only has the first fruits of the Spirit, Romans 8:23. Which is the down payment of the Spirit.

Another reason that the law is NOT for the Christian is that the law will cause you to sin. That's right the law will cause you to sin. Paul wrote, "What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid, No, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said , THOU SHALT NOT COVET. But sin, taking occasion by the commandment, wrought in me all manner of concupiscence. FOR WITHOUT THE LAW SIN WAS DEAD. For I was alive without the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived and I died" Romans 7:7-12.

Those that live according to rules and laws sin the most. Religion actually encourages people to sin. Look at all of the TV preachers, almost everyone of them fell into sin. And how about the mother of religion, the Catholic church? It is only when you are free to sin, that you will stop sinning. The Christian is perfect and complete "In Christ" Colossians 2:10. Theoretically he can't sin, but he does sin and has the freedom to sin, but he doesn't, because he knows that its wrong and it is against his Spirit.
