UN Security Council confirmed Iraq had WMDs

Deploring the fact that Iraq has not provided an accurate, full, final, and complete disclosure, as required by resolution 687 (1991), of all aspects of its programmes to develop weapons of mass destruction and ballistic missiles with a range greater than one hundred and fifty kilometres, and of all holdings of such weapons, their components and production facilities and locations, as well as all other nuclear programmes, including any which it claims are for purposes not related to nuclear-weapons-usable material,

This was in 2002, before the U.S. invaded in 2003.

From Bush's own mouth....

part of the reason we went into Iraq was — the main reason we went into Iraq at the time was we thought he had weapons of mass destruction. It turns out he didn’t, but he had the capacity to make weapons of mass destruction.

Lots of people, including Saddam's own generals, say they were smuggled out to Syria early on. I'm not sure I'd believe anything the swamp creatures tell us, but, there are clues to be found even now.

This Democratic drumbeat continued and even intensified when George W. Bush succeeded Clinton in 2001. In a letter to the new President, a number of Senators led by Florida Democrat Bob Graham declared:

"There is no doubt that ... Saddam Hussein has invigorated his weapons programs. Reports indicate that biological, chemical, and nuclear programs continue apace and may be back to pre-Gulf war status. In addition, Saddam continues to redefine delivery systems and is doubtless using the cover of a licit missile program to develop longer-range missiles that will threaten the United States and our allies."
Senator Carl Levin reaffirmed for Bush’s benefit what he had told Clinton some years earlier:

"Saddam Hussein is a tyrant and a threat to the peace and stability of the region. He has ignored the mandate of the United Nations, and is building weapons of mass destruction and the means of delivering them."
Senator Hillary Clinton agreed, speaking in October 2002:

"In the four years since the inspectors left, intelligence reports show that Saddam Hussein has worked to rebuild his chemical- and biological-weapons stock, his missile-delivery capability, and his nuclear program. He has also given aid, comfort, and sanctuary to terrorists, including al-Qaeda members."
Senator Jay Rockefeller, vice chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, concurred:

"There is unmistakable evidence that Saddam Hussein is working aggressively to develop nuclear weapons and will likely have nuclear weapons within the next five years.... We also should remember we have always underestimated the progress Saddam has made in development of weapons of mass destruction."
Also in 2002, Al Gore said the following:

"We know that [Saddam] has stored secret supplies of biological and chemical weapons throughout his country."
"Iraq’s search for [WMD] has proven impossible to deter, and we should assume that it will continue for as long as Saddam is in power."

Did you even read your own quote?

Capacity can mean whatever you want it to mean..and is DIFFERENT then having them in possession.

And even if he did, it's none of our business....

Weapons are a deterent....Us having WMD's is a deterent to other nations from attacking us.....as it should be.

It was a material breech of UN Resolution 1441. End of debate. Inspectors said "we need to check here", he threw them out, and six weeks later let them look. History revision will never end with the left. Russia helped move some of the stock piles CLINTON said he had. They went to Syria, and are still being used.

Again, exactly.

You're a relic. Mutually Assured Destruction doesn't work against the re-emerging multinational yet non-national Caliphate that has declared total war on ALL unbelievers, regularly practices lying, ably uses PC against us and routinely camouflages warriors as civilians and "refugees." Asymmetrical warfare, you know. That's why some of us have long called for cutting the snake's head clean off...Mecca, Medina, Dome of the Rock. Fight ends. No more wasted blood in Iraq and Afghanistan, trying to lop off limbs while the root grows.

As for W and Iraq, he said the weapons were not there when they arrived, not that they were NEVER there because everyone (including those who now lie about it) know they damn well were AND that he wanted bigger ones. But it's about to be a moot point since Obama and Clinton armed Iran.

ISIS took control of a chemical weapon factory. It had sarin nerve gas and mustard gas that it didn't actually have.
