In the book of Daniel chapter 11 and verse 6, we are introduced to the king of the north. Upon Alexander's death, his kingdom was divided to the four winds of heaven. Among the four successors, the kingdom or king of the north occupied the northern division. "And the rough goat is the king of Grecia: and the great horn that is between his eyes is the first king. Now that being broken, whereas four stood up for it, four kingdoms shall stand up out of the nation, but not in his power." Daniel 8:21,22. Palestine is the point of reference of these kingdoms. Thrace, which lies to the north of Palestine, went to Lysimachus. At this time Thrace included Asia Minor and the countries lying on the Bosphorus and Hellespont. This territory is occupied by modern day Turkey.
