Seems like that's the case for a lot of products. Even some of the real pricey stuff is less expensive then the products of a relative caliber were a decade ago.
That's especially true of computers, phones, and basically anything that can sell you more product. There's a lot of 'bloatware' that is conveniently a bit tedious or difficult to remove from devices which people will get suckered into throwing money at where they otherwise wouldn't.
