The wages of sin is death.

Rom 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

How then can they who die in sin, still be alive?

When the Bible clearly says they will perish and be dead forever when thrown into the lake of fire?

Rev 20:13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
Rev 20:14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
Rev 20:15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

This torment of the beast worshippers who take the mark occurs during the vials of wrath beginning at the return of Christ, and does not speak of the casting of the wicked into hellfire after the last judgment.

The qualification to be tormented in the vials of wrath are different to that of being cast into hell, though similar in some respects.
