noun: hireling; plural noun: hirelings
a person who works purely for material reward.
Joh 10:11 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.
Joh 10:12 But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep.
Joh 10:13 The hireling fleeth, because he is an hireling, and careth not for the sheep.
Joh 10:14 I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.
How many of you have a Pastor who runs your church like a business? If they say “you must tithe or you are robbing God”, he or she is a hireling. That is scripture, but it does not pertain to the Christian church!
There are other ways they expose themselves and it really boils down to the fact they are only doing a job for the money, not as a calling from God.
