"And in the sixth month" (Luke 1:26)

If Mary became pregnant in the sixth month that precludes a December birth.

Jesus said, "But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in Spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such to worship Him." (John 4:23)

Sixth month of what?

It's pretty well known that the actual birth of Jesus was likely in late September or early October of the Gregorian calendar.

The sixth month of the year. Passover is in the first month.
It does not say "sixth month of the year".

It is far more likely to be talking about the sixth month of Elisabeth's pregnancy.

Luke 1:24-26 (AKJV/PCE)
(1:24) And after those days his wife Elisabeth conceived, and hid herself five months, saying, (1:25) Thus hath the Lord dealt with me in the days wherein he looked on [me], to take away my reproach among men. (1:26) And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth,

The sixth month came after the five months mentioned in verse 24.

Of course, months are always counted from someone's pregnancy, right?

I mean this is the twelfth month from someone's pregnancy.

It could be someone named Elizabeth.

"This month shall be your beginning of months, it shall be the first month of the year to you."
(Exodus 12:2)

Only someone familiar with scripture would know this though.

Incredibly childish post. Respond to what I posted.

More childishness.

Random Bible quotes are a BLAST!

Please show us why the "sixth month" MUST be the "sixth month of the year".

From the CONTEXT, it is clearly talking about Elisabeth's pregnancy.

Hardly. Scripture says she secluded herself for five months.

Verse 26 is a change of subject from verse 25.

Try to keep up.
  • No, it is not.
  • Prove that it's the sixth month OF THE YEAR, since it says no such thing.
The entire passage is AND, AND, AND .... and yet you see a "subject change" and an "of the year" that is not there.

Try a different Bible version or are you KJV only?
Which mistranslated version do you prefer? Probably the NIV, I'll bet.

Is there something from with the KJB regarding this passage?

Did they miss "of the year" in verse 26?

Why do you think that "AND in the sixth month" starts a new subject? Do a lot of NEW subjects start with AND?
