2 Thess 2:7
For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.
A biblical Mystery is something Spiritual man naturally has no knowledge of, it must be revealed. Man by nature doesnt really know what iniquity before God really is. Yes by nature we know things like immorality, drunkeness, and a list of other things of the flesh are sinful and wrong before God, for instance the works of the flesh are manifest Gal 5:19-21
Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like:
Eph 5:3-5
3 But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints;
4 Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks.
5 For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater,
See these things men knows naturally that they are sinful.
But what we dont know naturally is that sincere religious, moral activity is also works of iniquity, for instance Jesus says to some here, calling them workers of iniquity Matt 7:22-23
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
