We don't know where it is for certain. But with certainty we know where it isn't. It isn't at the mountain where St Catherine's Monastery was built. It is impossible as it doesn't fit the most basic Biblical descriptions. Sinai is in Arabia, according to Paul, and Sinai/Horeb is in Midian, which is in northern Arabia where Moses fled too when Thutmose III wanted him dead for killing the Egyptian. That isn't the only thing Helena got wrong, or flat lied about.
One difficult issue is the timeline. The Bible does not say who the 2 Pharaohs are. It mentions a city, and the heathen latch onto because the date is wrong. At the link for Thutmose 3, they lay out compelling evidence why it is not Ramesses. The timeline does not match up to Ramesses, and there is no Egyptian history for the events. Then those who shake their fist at God can say the Bible is made up. Joel Kramer has an compelling argument against Ramesses and who the Pharaoh was that led chase on chariots and were destroyed in Yam Suph. (The Red Sea). First is Joel Kramer. I suspect some of you are familiar with him. In my non-expert opinion, his channel is mostly excellent.
Both sources use the much earlier date with the same family.
A con artists and clown also revealed where in Saudi Arabia the mountain was. The evidence is compelling, even if he is not. 2 videos with a bunch of overlap. Neither of which is by Ron Wyatt himself.
The additional information from Josephus is excellent. And not contradicted by scripture. And one more who goes over more stops listed in the Bible. This requires you to accept the fact that Mt Sinai is not on the Sinai peninsula. It is in norther Saudi Arabia.
At the mountain locals call Jabal Maqla which is a peak in the range called Jabal al-Lawz, which is translated as the Mountain of the Law, an altar with Egyptian style sacred cow.
This is an example of the Egyptian original.
These are very strong coincidences. Also there is the remains of a real altar, and the corral used to keep the animals for sacrifice. Again, more coincidence. The Hebrews may not have put the Egyptian cow God on the rock. But who did? I will say the Exodus route is proven, ignore the sensationalism of the pastor using super-imposed images under water of chariot wheels. That isn't seen. The mountain is a definite maybe. And if you don't know, Yam Suph is mentioned more than once. Solomon had a fleet on the "Red Sea", called Yam Suph. It isn't a low land shallow lake. That is contradictory to the crossing and the water on both sides of their path.
