THE CONSUMER PSALM

The media is my shepherd; I shall continually want.
It makes me lie down amongst the amazing offers.
It leads me with millions of others: it destroys my soul.

It guides me by advertising for profits sake.
Even when I walk through the sales and buy what I don’t really need.
It presses me to spend, your discounts and offers they tempt me.

The table before me is sparse in the presence of my family
I’m in debt once again and fear grips me.

Surely the media will follow me into the next year and beyond
and I shall be in debt, forever.

23RD PSALM OF DAVID

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me
beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness
for his name's sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil:
for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies:
thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life:
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

“Love not the world, neither the things in the world.
If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.”
